this is so self-indulgent but i love imagining a dysfunctional friendship between alfred and ludwig. like they are friends, truly - if only alfred stops asking how gil is, is gil still single, does gil still remember him, 'can you fix me up with your brother?' and lud already can't handle alfred and his unorthodox work ethics and conference mannerisms, he is one bad day away from wringing alfred's neck. meanwhile, alfred thinks that he and lud are so much alike, that they pine for the same people, and those people are essentially motherly brother figures who they want to possess and at the same time stay away from.
