'Speed Busters'
[PC] [SPAIN] [MAGAZINE] [1999]
"Speed Busters promises to be one of the best recreated and most realistic games of today. Having seen some current Formula 1 titles or those that recreate cars from the 50s, this one breaks the traditional mold by going all the way to the cars of the late 60s, where the automotive empire and movie stars, surrounded by luxury and other typical characters of the era, are revived in an anachronistic and very original game. The best thing about it is the realism of the car rollovers, the particularities of inertia that make the body move with the sudden braking or acceleration. The lighting is very good, much more realistic than in other games, and the controls are more complex and addictive. The essence of 80s arcade games is revived by placing elements on the track that increase the vehicle's speed (turbo) and give it new capabilities to overtake its opponents. The graphics are absolutely magnificent thanks to the acceleration of a Voodoo card; a Voodoo 2 is recommended. This game matches the graphical processes of arcade games. In short, a very realistic game due to the car's movement, in addition to the multiple configurations that can be made on each car (color, accessories). We are certain that this game will surpass others on the market, and we will have to try the game in its entirety, evaluate its musical and sound aspects, and compare it with other games on the market to verify the level of realism we have glimpsed in this preview." ~PCMania (November 1998, #73) [BMT🤖]
