whenever i read those really inspirational posts i build up some sense of hope that people in the outside world are really changing for the better. but then an hour, two, a day later i'll be in the store or in class and i notice that not everybody is actually that kind. in fact, pretty much no one is. people pick fun at each other for every little thing, make comments, laugh. there was a student in my green tech class who actually stopped showing up after a group of dumb guys started making comments to him. and with all this bullshit i witness the first thing that comes to mind is "am i back in 2010?" but then i'll log back into tumblr when i get home and i read all these amazing, self-appreciation and self-love posts and i feel a sensation of confidence and self-pride swell within me. the posts of people i have never met, nor will i probably ever meet, make me feel so much more comfortable with myself than nearly everyone ive been around.

long story short, if your parents/guardians/friends ever tell you that online friends aren't real friends, you keep in mind that that's not true. because if a fucking stranger's posts are making you feel a million times better than anyone you know personally, then there's a real fucking problem there.

i get that there is a lot of hooplah surrounding bible thumpers, I'm not one of them, God's not going to punish you. he's a chill dude
