Tied at the wrists {Valrace} | Edward & Jung-a
@psiker
It was Valentine’s Day. And, deciding to do the unexpected, Jung-a had decided to sign up for a race, fully well knowing it would involve having to be with a complete stranger for the duration of the event. She had thought it was going to be fun, especially now that the woman didn’t have anybody to spend the holiday with. But, like the outcome of most of her social interactions, Jung-a felt awkward and uncomfortable.
An official of the race had bound her wrist to the stranger’s with a red string, an obvious reference to the red string of fate. At first she had tried to think nothing of it. After all, it was Valentine’s Day so they tried to at least add some romantic theme to it. The more the idea sat in her head though, the more embarrassing it became. Soon enough, Jung-a’s only thought was to go home. Too late now.
The official finished with the wrist-tying, read the rules, and then gave them the tasks they had to complete. Like that, the race had officially started. Better get to know her partner now then never, right?
“Uh, my name’s Jung-a Lee. I guess we’ll be racing together.” While her small smile on the outside may have seemed cool, on the inside she was panicking. Why had she even bothered signing up for this? She was a terrible racer, and there was no way her partner wasn’t going to hate her by the end.
Her right hand was free (the left one being the tied one), and it held onto the list of challenges. “Where do you think we should go first?” she asked him.
