O antissemitismo é considerado crime no Brasil.
O atual governo, junto a certos sites, blogs, ONGs, alguns institutos, universidades e partidos políticos, recebe verbas milionárias de fundações internacionais.
i don’t think i’ve introduced this wip since i made this blog like four years ago, so here’s a long overdue introduction in the spirit of nanowrimo :)
project save the universe — a reintroduction
Margot eyed the slogan on Evelyn’s shirt: Project Save the World, in big, green and blue letters. Normally, she didn’t have a reason to think too hard about it—it not like she would have talked to her anyway. But now, she had questions.
“Why stop at the world?” she asked.
Evelyn blinked. “What?”
Margot made a vague motion at her shirt. “Why stop at the world?” she repeated. Her eyes flicked upwards. Through the branches above them, the barest hint of night sky had begun to show as the sun went down. “Why not go bigger?”
“How much bigger?” Evelyn asked, playing along. The corner of her lips quirked up as she followed Margot’s gaze.
Margot shrugged. “Why not save the universe?”
Evelyn laughed, and the sound was somehow slippery and sharp at the same time, like honey spread on toast. “Sure. I’ll put that on tomorrow’s agenda.”
Margot liked the idea of tomorrow.

blurb
Margot joined the Environmental Club her junior year for a quick credit on her college application. Evelyn has been passionate about going green since the fourth grade.
When Evelyn plans a protest to keep a tree in the local park from being torn down, Margot has no intention of showing up. Why should she? Evelyn has been the thorn in hers and everyone elses' sides since they were kids, and some things you just don't grow out of.
But the universe works in funny ways. Sometimes, people take walks in the park, and sometimes, they get pulled into climbing a tree and staying there until it’s saved.
Evelyn doesn’t mind. If that's what it takes to save the Earth, then so be it.
Margot doesn’t mind either. But she has a feeling it’s for a very different reason.
i have to be up early tomorrow for marching band, so short update tonight. hope everyone’s doing well :)))
excerpt:
She managed to open her mouth, but no words came out. It felt like someone had their hands around her neck, squeezing any words she could think of back into her lungs.
Lidia frowned. “Margot, you don’t need to talk about it. Do you need water?”
Tess tilted her head. “I don’t understand—”
“Tess, how about you drop it?” Peter said, a bit aggressively. Even Tess’s other sophomore friends seemed to have grasped the situation, and were desperately tugging on Tess’s sleeve to get her to shut up.
Tagged by @marlettwrites, thank you so much!! I’ve been waiting for an excuse to do this for forever:)
Rules: share the last line(s) you wrote for your WIP
(I’ll be doing this for Project Save the Universe since I have no idea where I last edited in Lark and Eli) (also I’ll be completely honest, this isn’t the last line I wrote, but it is the last line in one of Margot’s chapters. It’s also one of few bits I don’t hate, so here it is)
Margot put her head on the table and groaned. “I’m officially the only junior who does literally nothing.”
Tristan patted her shoulder and Margot looked up just enough to meet his far too jovial grin. “That’s not true! You have the Environmental Club--sorry, Project Save the Earth.”
Margot dropped her head back down and groaned louder.
Tagging (no pressure, of course, sorry if you’ve already been tagged!!): @nkta-ink, @clarissalopeswriter, @elusiveink, and anyone else who wants to do it!!
tagged by the lovely @katerinarevel, thank you!! i know it’s been literally forever, sorry for taking so long!!
rules. what are three (3) songs that really embody your wip? how do they relate to it?
i’ll be doing this for both lark and eli and project save the universe (pstu will be under the cut):)
lark and eli
1. selene - imagine dragons
“this is my heart, it’s on the line, selene.”
i love this song in general, not just for this wip, but it also fits this story really well. through the entire book, eli is vulnerable. there’s no other way around it. his heart is constantly on the line, his love for his brother and sister driving each and every one of his choices, his fear for their lives keeping him going. the vibe this song gives me is a mix of deep and hopeful, which sums up eli and his journey pretty well.
2. not what i meant - dodie
“i'll do it if i have to, hoping for an in-between. not what i meant when i said that i
i wanted to be seen.”
again, this one ties back to eli’s love for his siblings when it comes to the lyrics. he doesn’t want their lives to be on the line, he doesn’t want to have to save them, but they are and he does, and he’ll do what he has to. plus, the song itself has that sort of indescribable quality that fits the story, if that makes sense?
3. don’t wanna fight - amber run
“when the ticking of clocks, is more like a drum, and you're caught in a trap, can't find your way home. you’re not perfect, not perfect either, letting blind anger hold you, grip like a fever. but i don't want to fight, i don't want to fight any more.”
man, none of these kids want to fight anymore. the poor mages are stuck in a position they don’t deserve to be stuck in, and stay that way for the entire book. the lyrics to this song really capture that perfectly, so how could i not include it??
project save the universe
1. warm glow - hippo campus
“girl, teal-eyed, do occupy this tree with me.”
soft lyrics, soft music, soft everything. it all just makes me think of margot and evelyn falling in love, stuck up in a tree, which is my favorite part of pstu. the whole song reminds me of spring and love and warmth, and spring and love and warmth reminds of my two favorite girls, not quite knowing what to call what they’re feeling.
2. in love - khai dreams
“my love, you drive me crazy in the loveliest way.”
this whole song (that line in particular) just makes me think of margot as her feelings shift from finding evelyn generally irritating to falling in love with her. after the first few hours stuck in that tree, she can’t deny that her feelings are changing, however much she wants to stop it (i mean, what is her best friend liv going to say?? she hates evelyn!!). but she can’t help it:’)
3. she - dodie
“am i allowed to look at her that way?”
this song is 100% evelyn when she starts to realize her feelings for margot. is this allowed? can this happen? is she gay? evelyn, the organized, nature-loving, straight a student, the girl who has it all put together, is starting to question her sexuality of all things. i mean, she always knew she didn’t have time for boys, but she had never let herself consider girls...
basically, this song sums up evelyn coming to terms with how she feels and accepting that, yes, she is allowed to look at her that way.
phew!! i’m done!! tagging (if you want to!!): @amongwriters, @things-waiting-to-be-written, @sundaynightnovels, and @farrradays :)
I love your "WIP in one sentence" game, and I was wondering whether you'd be willing to entertain us with a sentence about your WIP(s), too! <3
awe!! thank you for this ask, it’s so nice to hear you’re interested!!:)
