I don’t Like K-Pop

Okay, before you hate me, let me explain myself, please read this all the way since this can apply to anyone of any fandom.

So, yes, I don’t like K-pop, it’s not a racist thing and I’m not saying I’m against it or anything. I just, don’t care.

When people say I don’t care, they are not automatically your enemies, there is a big difference between “I don’t care” and “I hate it.”, you can be angry at someone who openly hates something, but you can’t for someone who isn’t even involved, like at all. I don’t care is a neutral thing.

Stop treating things with a “you’re either with me or against me” mindset because some people are indifferent, like me, they couldn’t care less.

Now, I get that you people into K-Pop and stuff are very passionate and dedicated and all that, so I think I should explain why I don’t like this thing that you love (I don’t like it but don’t hate it, just don’t care.) 

I don’t understand it.

I don’t speak he language and I can’t interpret the dances, I don’t understand. Okay, so the whole reason I’m into music is the message behind everything, the relatable subject that we all understand, its why I love alt/emo music. There’s something behind it all and its not something to be taken for face value.

I’m not saying your music is shallow, I just mean that I don’t know what the message is because I don’t speak the language. I’m sure you guys love it because you do speak the language or maybe its the way they look/act/sound/dance that you love, but the appeal is lost for me (lost in translation to be specific.)

We all have different tastes and I never said you should not like something, just be open to other people’s views and opinions and accept that they won’t be into something just because you and everyone else is. 

So I hope you don’t mind when people don’t like the thing your into, they just have their own thing and we all need to learn to respect that.
