I went to a Warhammer store with my family today and had an unexpected blast! Well, I mean, you know me as the 40k fan I am, and I have been to their stores before, but always alone; and I was a bit nervous because my family is usually not big fans of the media I am into. But they found it (at least, the tabletop/model aspect) very cool!

some highlights:

a nice lady working at the store taught me how to assemble and paint a model. also had nice talk about both painting techniques and lore during.

I showed her my drawings of my 40K oc's, and she and a colleague helped me pick out paints that could achieve their colour schemes.

my mom was surprised that I was into 40K over Age of Sigmar, because 1. I usually like fantasy things over scifi things and 2. she thinks AOS models are more elegant and badass looking

however, she looked at Magnus the Red and said he was a "very pretty boy".

I bought my first box of models :D (and the paints + tools to go with them)
