My coworkers: What are you reading? You're concentrating so hard.

Inwardly: I'm reading a Serial killer AU and a Found Family trope fanfic. Like What If the forever Optimist A with his dad jokes and wholesomeness turned out to be a Stepford Smiler, Serial killer and pessimistic, chaos maker B is the problem child who likes to torment A found out about it and is the only one who knows. Cue, compromised morality and platonic/parental relationships with hints of codependency. Just the right amount of toxicity and feels to get me through the day, ya know?

Me: Oh, Family adventure stuff. It's fun and wholesome!

Them, disinterested now: Ahh... That's nice.

Me: 🙂
