I am very excited to announce that Wayfarer's public release will launch on Thursday September 9 at 12:00pm PST!
What the Public Release Includes:
The Prologue & Chapter I
Over 20 codex entries for you to discover
Over 500k words of cumulative game content (75k for an average playthrough, or roughly 2 and a half hours of gameplay)
All-new UI designs and visual assets, including unique screens for shopping, bartering, and your inventory
Toggleable dark and light modes
Toggleable fullscreen mode for PC
Full mobile compatibility, for both portrait and landscape modes
What a Public Launch Means
Previously, the game's public build was only accessible via a password-embedded URL on my development blog. This is how early players and followers of my blog were able to play the game. Now that the game is launching officially, it will no longer be in restricted access, which means:
You will be able to find it through itch.io's search function
If you previously put the game in a public itch.io collection, it will now show up
You can leave comments!
You can view all of the dev logs (going back to October 2020)
Release Schedule
Wayfarer's release schedule is episodic. Once launched, the public build will update on a chapter-by-chapter basis. If you're interested in early access content, the alpha build will continue have in-development content that goes beyond what is playable in the public version.
The alpha build is available to play on my Patreon! Patrons get some additional goodies and benefits, and access to a backlog of worldbuilding and bonus content posts. This month, I'll be doing a Creator Q&A that will be exclusive to Patreon.
