Reintroducing my ocs Vulpina and Leapa back into the lore
Remember how I said I retconned their previous lore in this post? I’m bringing it back with some rewrites because honestly? the original concept goes kinda hard
It’s pretty long though so here it is under the cut
Vulpina is a being made out of the energy of Nathan’s powers, created to spy on Alan after he escaped to the puenymph realm with Samuel and Charly. She is made to appear like a fox puenymph in their 20s. Although they are created to be a false person without a personality and feelings, she starts developing them while in contact with other people, especially Leapa, who she develops a crush on (the feeling is mutual). Despite this, Nathan still treats Vulpina like an object, refusing to call them anything but “it“.
Physically, she appears quite similiar to Nathan, but significantly shorter and missing part of her left leg as to save energy. When low on energy, she might become shorter and her colors start to fade (it’s an effort for Nathan to make the energy reflect the correct light to simulate color). Their most energy efficient form is the pure energy form, which she shifts into when energy is very low. At the spots where Nathan’s skin is purple, their skin is a bit lighter than the rest. Her features might also subtly change, as Nathan is unable to 100% accurately recreate them each time she is summoned. There are also small particles and a subtle glow visible around her.
Leapa is a bunny puenymph in her twenties with a sweet and kind personality, working in a bakery. After Leapa finds out Vulpinas true nature, their bond is momentarily broken. Vulpina tries to fix things, as they despise Nathan and his intentions and want to live their own life, but since Vulpina cannot exist without Nathan’s powers keeping them alive, Vulpina and Leapa don’t meet again due to Nathan’s dying from the curse.
Been thinking a lot about the lore of Eva and this robot oc from AGES ago and have come up with some stuff I haven’t shared yet bc I didn’t have any related art to post with it. I’ve finally had time to design the creator of the robot (dubbed 0BS3RV3-C0NT41N-PR0T3CT_T or Observer), so I’ll share the lore below the cut!
Observer (she/her, but any are fine) was created by CL30 (she/they/it), a leopard puenymph who has been affected by the curse and likes to tinker with machinery. CL30 attempted to keep the curse at bay by modifying its body, trying to section off pieces of her body with the curse to stop it from spreading (they were unsuccessful). She has also created these robot legs for itself to help with walking and standing, slipping them on like pants on her real legs. They also attempted to better control the curse using the wires and circuits attached to her body, manipulating the electricity from the curses powers, choppily cutting and shaving its hair for better access to them.
The reason for observers creation lies in her name: to observe her surroundings, contain the book with the curse and protect people from getting cursed in the future. After CL30‘s death, though, Observer fell into disrepair until Eva discovered her in CL30‘s abandoned home. Eva managed to repair her, but got cursed in the process by finding the book contained in Observers torso cavity. Eva and Observer got along well, and Eva studied her a lot, but as Eva’s state worsened, so did Observers, as Eva didn’t have any energy to take care of her anymore.
After Evas death, Observer fell into disrepair again, and Eva seeks to find CL30 in the void to learn more about it and their findings. But CL30 is nowhere near Beatrix‘ cult in the void, and no one knows where it is. Eva doesn’t want to leave behind the others, hoping to persuade them to leave Beatrix… but even so, she feels strangely connected to Beatrix even though they despise each other, and deep down could never commit to leaving her (though she would never admit that ofc)

I saw this art challenge about drawing Hatsune Miku as someone from your oc world, so I tried it!! I drew her as a puenymph, and she’s a blue shrimp! I considered making her a bunny with floppy ears as her pigtails, but I already have an oc like that, so I went with the shrimp and made her pigtails the antennae (plus it’s fitting with her color pallette)

I don’t think I’ve talked abt this piece of lore, mostly bc I didn’t do much with it. After the incident where Nathan becomes feral and rips Robins arm off (reason for his prosthetic), Nathan wants to make sure he doesn’t hurt Robin again while he has no control over himself. So he uses a spell that lets Robin heal any wound he’s been afflicted with. This causes the markings to appear.
Although this spell actually works, it still has a LOT of drawbacks. It works by resetting the body to its original state (the state it was in when the spell was applied). Robin has lots of bandaids, bruises and scars, and because of the spell, those never heal.
What’s worse is that he can still wounded, feels all the pain from the injury, and feels DOUBLE the amount of pain while it regenerates. No matter the injury, even if it would be fatal, his body WILL heal whether he likes it or not (he’s essentially immortal now, as his body doesn’t age either).
As Nathan’s curse progresses, he loses control of his body more often, leading to more violent attacks. These are especially motivated by hunger, as the curse takes more energy from his body than he can take in. This leads to Nathan attacking Robin, eating parts of his body, and those painfully regenerating. It is an endless loop of suffering Robin has to endure, representing the way Nathan takes advantage of him. Despite this, Robin defends Nathan and stays with him, saying he has no control over himself.

After Nathan’s death, the spell wears off, thankfully. The markings on Robins body remain, though they have lost their purple color.

I've been working on my puenymph lore and came up with some folklore!! Since puenymphs used to be humans, there are a lot of theories about how they aquired the power to shapeshift.
Lots of puenymphs believe that a human child was born with the ability to shapeshift, and posessed all of the genes of the animal kingdom. Their children would take on parts of their genes, splitting into being able to turn into anything from a certain group of animals. This would go on and on until puenymphs could only shift into one animal like they do nowadays.
Luna is one of the first generation of children from that first puenymph, posessing all genes of arthropods, though preferring to take on a form resembling a luna moth. She and her siblings are the patrons of their respective animal group, as well as often associated with different concepts, though these and her appearance depend on individual interpretations.
Luna and her siblings aren't real people, but rather symbolic figures. The tale of the first puenymph is actually pretty close to reality, though the genes split up more wildly, less definable by groups of animals. The first puenymphs didn't live long because of their extremely unstable DNA, becoming the origin of the curse. The less DNA, the more stable their survival chances were, leading to puenymphs typically only transforming into one animal. Even the DNA of two animals makes you much more prone to mutations, like Beatrix' second pair of wings being underdeveloped.
