4. Is there an au or trope that you haven't written before, but would want to try?

Soulmates. I want to write soulmates (or soulmate-adjacent stuff) SO BAD. But like. I dislike it very much when soulmates are only ever romantic or the "default setting" is romantic (I have had to sigh and go "okay fine I guess" on so many fics whenever that happens). AND I also want to write soulmates that can be one-sided or that can involve many people or that aren't forever because oh my god the person I would have been a soulmate with at 18 is definitely not who I would've wanted to have forever ties to at 38. Absolutely the fuck not.

(I've read some really interesting platonic/familial soulmate stuff for the Batfam, which mostly scratches that itch but not always because even then the soulmate bit is permanent/eternal, and I am so fucking fascinated by the idea that you can lose a soulmate just by living and thereby changing, every day.)

6. If you were to write a part two/sequel to a fic, what fic would you want to write it for?

The next installment of the Emergency Protocols series. At the very least, there were supposed to be two more fics, one of which is a two-part Prompto solo where he does not interact with any of the other guys, and the other, well..... spoilers? XD

I saw you take asks and so I am asking >:) I’m taking the Wayback Machine to ask about the inspiration for your FFXV fic Steel Under Skin!

Actually, I cannot take credit for the inspiration! It was a prompt left on the FFXV kinkmeme (not sure if it's still going). Quite a few of my FFXV fics, especially from the first couple years I was in the fandom, were from the kinkmeme--which is hilarious to me because none of them were smut prompts. XD

ANYWAY

I guess a more complete answer is that I really love poking around at FFXV's worldbuilding and the boundaries between storytelling and gameplay. Noct's healing magic (potions/phoenix downs) is one of those things--and I just really liked the idea of exploring what it means to learn how to die when you've grown up in a family whose sole purpose to to protect the royal line. And trying to figure out how you feel about death, about inflicting death, and then maybe (probably) falling in love with the guy you repeatedly murder as you both go through this desensitization training, and who eventually gets good enough that he starts murdering you back.

I think of this fic with a great deal of wistfulness, for the record. If the inspiration ever comes back for it, the first thing I'm going to do is outline it so maybe I can figure out where a good place to end it would be.

The Lysithea one intrigues me, but you already know that! And the Prompto & Ignis WOR one! But I really want to ask about "he went away whole (but the chamber was covered with his blood)"...

"he went away whole (but the chamber was covered with his blood)" is my "Prompto has a REALLY fucking bad time in Zegnatus" fic. It's basically a "why don't more people in the fandom explore the horrific implications of Besithia's mind transfer and cloning tech?" body horror delight that has Prompto waking up in a morgue with some new stitching. 😈

I haven't touched this one in a while because I realized I needed to stop and do some timeline/plotting work, and I keep forgetting about it or have shinier ideas popping up that take my attention.

I think I posted a snippet of it at some point...? If someone else asks about this one, I'll dig it up!

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

Oooh, interesting. Generally not? The closest that comes to it is The Breaking Light, as I was mightily tempted to keep going and show Noctis settling down in this new Eos and reconnecting with all his friends. (It was going to end up being Prompto/Ignis/Noctis.) But honestly, I think I prefer where I left it, where the readers can decide exactly what Noct’s happy ending would be.

Emergency Protocol Talk! (I can't tell you how hard it was to pick between that one and Steel Under Skin...)

Ooooh, okay. It was close, but ultimately I think this is my favorite standalone line: He’s Prompto, and the only things that set him apart are the barcode he keeps hidden and the fact that he can get the prince to laugh sometimes.

This poor boy just–has the worst self esteem in the world and doesn’t get how important he is to the people around him, and it just breaks my heart. So he thinks the only things that are special about him are 1) the unknowable thing he’s ashamed of and 2) being comic relief.

I’m really fond of Survival Training. Originally I wanted to explore Noctis’ first monster and/or daemon kill and how he would respond to that because he sure doesn’t react at all when you start slaying monsters in the game… except I totally never got into that because the rest of the fic took over and I looooooove a good survival story. Plus it’s always fun to do a bit of role reversal. AND my favourite h/c trope is having someone push themselves WAY beyond their limits to save someone else. Basically, non-lethal self-sacrifice is a trope I really enjoy and have explored in plenty of fics across every fandom I’ve ever written in… which is more than I can count at this point ^^;

If I ever find the time to write fics again, maybe I will write that first kill story. HMMMMMMMMMM.
