Idk, something happen, maybe some conflict with another super visitor or IT and Pale gets badly wounded and Protag feels bad bc he can't just leave him there after he protected his house so he let him stay in the basement

The way I see and headcanon Dave is very personal to me (doomed by a family who only saw him as what he *could be* and what he *could give* and also a very homophobic family, and also as a substitute for his dead brother)

#2001 a space odyssey #dave Bowman #BTW the same can be said about how I view his relationship with his mom: there is some love; she was his mother after all #but she also never truly loved him for who he was (a gay man with a love for art and; big HC but; also the sea and the stars) but who he was #for the family (a future well-known astronaut like his father was)#so I think he's ultimately torn when she dies and he comforts her #yes he could say he loves her but he can't help but never fully forgive her #and in a way; as sad as the whole being a starchild is; I think it was the first place he allowed himself to BE who he was #'youre different now' 'yes but the chance can be good'#I'm yappying I'm so sorry guys #puffy talks
