Hello!

Hope you are well, here are a some gigs worth checking out tonight (scroll down for details!)

I strongly believe it is vital to support up and coming comedians and the not so well known comedians (as well as the well known ones)

This blog covers not just what I am doing comedy wise, gigs I have been to of well known comedians but also people I have gigged with on the open mic circuit that I think are worth seeing (or I have gone to an open mic comedy night and seen them gig)

Who knows - you might be seeing the next Luisa Omielan, Lucy Beaumont, Trevor Noah, Russell Kane etc”

Here are some up and coming comedians who I believe are worth going along to see and they are gigging tonight!

MATTHEW McALOONE

ANGEL COMEDY CLUB

Matthew is an Irish comic and his material is observational and chatting about being Irish. I saw him gig at We Are Funny recently, he is wonderfully funny!

I have been to Angel Comedy Club and can not speak of the venue and people highly enough. Extremely well run nights and it’s great to see venues/clubs/comedians supporting other up and coming comedians.  It is nothing to do with the pub (as I understand it - it is not funded by the pub - but by the ‘goodwill’ of other comedians) - Camden Head, Angel, Islington N1 8DY . As someone starting out in comedy, I feel unbelievably strongly about not just supporting up and coming comedians - but also the clubs (of which Angel Comedy Club isn’t the only one!).

This is a FREE gig.

  ESHAAN AKBAR AND MARK DANIELS

WE ARE FUNNY

I went to this comedy night for the first time a month or so ago. What an absolutely brilliant night it was.  If you want to go to a comedy night, I can’t recommend this night highly enough.  It has a really lovely atmosphere to it, and is extremely well run. They are incredibly supportive of all their acts and they have brilliant MCs too.

  ESHAAN AKBAR

I saw Eshaan for the first time up at EdFringe as a finalist in the So You Think You’re Funny , Café a la Mode in Covent Garden and recently at We Are Funny . 

He won the We Are Funny Award at the end of the night which allows him to do a 10min spot (as I understand it, though I may have understood it incorrectly!) Every time I have seen Eshaan gig I have laughed so much. His comedy style is both anecdotal and observational he is extremely funny. 

This SUNDAY 30th he is in THE LAUGHING HORSE NEW ACT FINAL

He helps run a comedy night called Big Nose Comedy (Which I’m really excited about because I will be gigging there this Sunday!)

MARK DANIELS

I saw Mark Daniels up at EdFringe this year when he was a finalist of So You Think You’re Funny Competition.   He is brilliantly funny and certainly worth going to see gig.

  Joe Sutherland

I saw Joe gig recently for the first time at the Semi Final of Leicester Square New Comedian 2014 (he was a finalist of the competition).  I really liked Joe’s comedy style.  He is anecdotal and a fantastically funny comic. From the moment he’s on stage you find yourself constantly laughing.  He talks about dating in a really funny charming way, which I can’t convey in this blog.  – you will have to take my word for it.. or better still – go and see him gig!

COMEDY TONIGHT: Monday 24th November

Hello!

Hope you all have had a lovely weekend, here are a couple of gigs worth checking out tonight (scroll down for details!)

Apologies – the blog has taken a bit of a back seat this week.  Hopefully we will return to normal in the coming weeks.

Here are some up and coming comedians who I believe are worth going along to see gig..You know the type you go and see.. then even a long time after the gig you’ll be in Sainsbury’s next to the bread rolls and you’ll remember that comedian’s material and start giggling to yourself?  (I will update and add comedians as and when I can - rather busy/exciting times my end at the moment so bear with me!) 

A few people have asked when am I going to be gigging next: the answer is – very soon!.. I’ve got some exciting projects on the go which I will hopefully be able to talk about later on in the year (very early days of planning them at the moment).. so watch this space!

If you have just started reading this blog, it’s a mixture of chatting about:

- Gigs I am doing/done - let’s call it ‘Claire’s comedy journey’..

- Gigs I am going to see whether it is a well known comic or not..

-  I promote comedians on here too, again well know comedians and not so well known.

So I shall write a blog entry (at the moment it is as and when, but I hope to do it every week) telling you about comedians I have seen or I have gigged with and love their material..
