Hello! It’s been a busy year, so much so, I’ve completely forgotten all about this blog.
If this is the first time you are reading this blog, then I include an extract from a previous entry that might just sum up what it’s all about. “I strongly believe it is vital to support up and coming comedians and the not so well known comedians (as well as the well-known ones)
This blog covers not just what I am doing comedy wise, gigs of well-known comedians I have attended but also people I have gigged with on the open mic circuit that I think are worth seeing (or I have gone to an open mic comedy night and seen them gig)
Who knows - you might be seeing the next Luisa Omielan, Lucy Beaumont, Trevor Noah, Russell Kane etc”
So, without further delay…
We have all been in this situation, the one where you’re meeting up with a friend before Christmas and there they are with a present for you. They say “oh it’s only a little something” to try and make you feel better about the fact you’ve got nothing for them. You say “oh that’s really lovely of you, I thought we weren’t doing presents” (or you do that thing where you pretend you left it at home) then it gets really embarrassing because you’ve either got to quickly get something or just be really awkward with the fact they’ve gone and spent about a tenner or more and you haven’t.
But now, there is a solution and you can even do it right from your mobile.
Introducing LUISA OMIELAN!
http://www.iloveluisa.com
If you go to her website, you can download her comedy stand up “Am I Right Ladies” for £9.99! Absolute bloody bargain (if you’ve seen her show you’ll see why I said that). You can buy that for your friend and they will love you forever.
Say goodbye to those awkward conversations/situations.
I’ve written about Luisa Omielan several times on here. Here is an extract from the last entry I wrote on her: “She is such an inspirational woman. Her confidence and energy is relentless. Luisa has an absolute knack at saying what the rest of us are thinking but daren’t say, or if we do, it wouldn’t be aloud or indeed on stage in front of a full audience night after night. Luisa Omielen isn’t afraid to bare all, and I feel there must be a fair few who could relate to what she was taking about both female and male. The first time I saw her show, I was on the train on the way home and suddenly found myself in tears..I wondered why this was. Was it because I hadn’t enjoyed the show? Had she touched on an upsetting topic? (well yes, but it wasn’t actually either of these that had had me in tears.) No, it was simply that I could relate a lot with what she was talking about and voicing so unbelievably well to others. It really had struck a chord in me – and that was a good thing. Her show “What Would Beyoncé Do?” is not at all surprising that it has had to have added dates in theatres, it has gone international and it’s sold out again and again and again. Really, this is the sort of show that absolutely everyone: male or female, should see this show. In fact, I will go as far as to say – I really hope that Luisa is putting it on DVD because if she is – everyone should buy it!”
(So it’s really good news that the DVD now exists)
I've seen Am I Right Ladies several times and highly recommend it. I was lucky enough to go to the recording of the DVD. I felt so strongly about the DVD being made, I put my money where my mouth was and donated to the crowdfunding which was set up last year.

So that just leaves me to say I hope you have a very happy Christmas and new year.
