I’m late to everything. You better believe I’ll be late to my funeral too! I just won’t be there to see it.
I cannot remember the last time I had plans with friends that involved picking me up and I didn't get a text shortly before the appointed time that was like "hey sorry I slept in/felt bad not helping my parents with something/another Fully Preventable Thing and I'm going to be [anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour late]!"
and I know I shouldn't complain because picking me up is very kind of them
but like. it's getting really old and it stresses me out to no end. I don't understand how I'm almost always capable of being where I need to be at the appointed time and it feels like nobody else is.
brought to you by: I have been sitting here ready for an hour and twenty minutes now and my friends are STILL not here yet. and we're going to something where parking fills up EARLY and I'm so stressed that I'm on the verge of tears, about us maybe not getting parking
I hate plans changing. I hate upheaval. and I get it if it's impossible to avoid, like a breakdown of a car or something, but- you didn't have to stop and help your parents paint a fence if you had somewhere to be! you didn't have to stay up late! none of this is ever unavoidable!

Which option best describes your punctuality?
Arrives slightly early
Arrives WAY too early
Arrives exactly on time
Arrives in flustered a few minutes late
Arrives fashionably late
Arrives rudely late
Totally forgets about the arrangement
How punctual is your OC?
Some people believe punctuality is optional. I believe in not lying to yourself.
I'm unemployed, but receive a basic income from the government on the condition that I look for work, which in my case means following a programme that will help me find work that is compatible with my health conditions.
One thing that is important is for you to be punctual. If I have an appointment with them, I must make sure I am on time. If I'm not, these are negative points.
Today my social worker is coming for a home visit. I'm not entirely sure what for, but they do this once a year. To make sure you're not lying about... certain things, I guess. We agreed she would come today, 3pm.
Exactly on the dot, she calls me. She thought our appointment was at 3.30pm, apparently. So she will be late.
She finally shows up at 3.45pm.
Punctuality, it seems, is only for the unemployed.
Them: Please be on time or early. We will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.
