How the heck did they manage to sneak out of the monster’s base?? Nobody knew the answer to that question besides the small human themself, but they weren’t about to reveal their secrets. Not when they were enjoying their first bit of privacy in a few days.
The docks were always a place they’d come to when they felt overwhelmed, whether by emotions or their experiences from the day, the sound of the swelling ocean always helped bring the child some peace. Something they really needed now, from how conflicted they felt over...their predicament.
A small whimper turns into a frustrated groan as they fall back, staring up at the night sky now with a small glare. Even though being off the streets and not having to steal for survival was great, living with their unexpected monster ‘guardians’ didn’t feel much better. Sure, miss Toriel was really nice, but everyone else...? It still felt like they were being glared at behind their back, every whisper felt like a rumor being passed around about a human being in their midst. They were still an outsider...
That thought made their frown tighten up in a pained expression. Maybe it was just their paranoia, but it was still suffocating. At least when they managed to sneak off like this, they were alone with no one to judge or be angry at them.
...Or at least, that’s what they thought, till a familiar twinge went down their neck and they sat up in alarm. So much for being alone-
“Who-Who’s there??” They said in what they hoped was a firm voice, even with the fearful tremor. In an instant Frannie was on their feet and looking ready to bolt, because even though the docks were their favorite spot in the city, it wasn’t exactly the safest for a kid.
