Choir III
Guardian Angels👼🏼
The lowest rank of angels and closest to the Mortal Plane.
They're the ones assigned to protect and guide assigned motals, helping them get out of sticky situations (like getting serious injuries, sickness, going on long and treacherous journeys, etc.) or advise them on their life choices. They don't exactly have free reign over their lives in general, only intervening when truly necessary. They can also deliver warnings of impending doom on the mortals and their loved ones (pretty common with prophets from back then and those that are on the Devil's bad side).
Pretty secretive, often helping from the sidelines or communicating through mortal dreams and disguises.
Act as ambassadors of Heaven, delivering messages and grace of the North Wind himself.
Usually in charge of escorting souls to be judged after death.
They along with the Cherubs act as choirs for Heaven's holy reverance for he North Wind. And their hymns can act as protection and comfort for mortals.
there are some that act as “Angels of Death” (or Erelim) that aid Azrael with guiding grieving mortals or hunting down stray souls.
Archangels🛡️
Angels of Sacred Flame, often carrying swords (or other weapons) of light and gleaming angelic gold.
Main guardians of humanity, closest to the Mortal Plane.
Messengers and guides to the mortals, like the Calix Animi.
Commanders of lower guardian angels.
Every so often, they would be sent down to the Mortal Plane (usually in disguise) or enter mortals' dreams to ensure all was in order and bring them guidance or warnings should the time arise.
Were seen as objects of worship along with the North Wind during the Calix Animi days. CA's earlier members shared stories of their bloodline descending from dishware of NW himself, destined to protect humanity from the forces of evil.
There is a section referred to as True Archangels, Archangels considered to be "the best of the best," the most fearsome and strongest. Hand-picked specifically to join the ranks of leadership amongst the other classes of angels, the True Archangels are endowed with powers almost as strong as the Seraphim, the Fiery Ones, allowing them to bring one hell (pun very much intended XD) of a brawl.
Some have their own little sects of guardian angels to help I their missions (and practically worship the ground they fly over 🙄
Principalities🌎
Oversee the lower choirs of angels. Often, they're responsible in teaching and/or assisting angels so they can fulfill their respective duties.
Guardian angels for countries and churches (and other religious associations), often visiting religious figures (popes, monks, rabbis, you name it!), and royalty to bring them news of salvation or prophecy. These meetings are a bit rare, however, since plenty of these leaders were using their knowledge as excuses to abuse their power.
They also record any goings on in churches or other sacred rituals.
Considered the Angels of Time and Personality, being able to shift time kn the universe, slowing it or speeding through it to deal with supernatural incidents to avoid further painic and catastrophe.
Preside over their respective nations' use of religion (good or bad) and ensure that their worship of Heaven doesn't hurt anyone or lead to learning more sensitive information about its inhabitants.
They also direct sects of angels in certain parts of the world, usually depending on the urgency of their missions.
Choir II
Powers⚔️
Heaven's protectors against evil demons, as well as guards of Heaven's prisons (like Purgatory) for the Astral Plane's greatest sinners, sacred places like temples, and any Astral passageways, including the Pearly Gates. They are also called "Authorities" for their warden-like duties.
Aid mortals during times of war, often by instilling bravery or giving them special weaponry. They ensure mortal power structures are just and meet the needs of whatever realm they serve, protecting and guiding those affected by particularly bad rulers
Enforcers towards the lower classes to do their jobs as guardians of mortals. But they also act as mediators to maintain cosmic order.
Sometimes, they work as scouts keeping record of the deeds, speech, and thoughts of humans to determine if souls are sent to Heaven or Hell.
Can intervene with mortal situations as requested by their superiors or any mortals they're assigned to watch over.
Mike became part of the Powers upon graduating from his warrior training, the youngest member of the New Generation.
Virtues🌳
Governors of all universal bodies (including nature, the elements, and weather) and how their processes affect the world. They can even send messages to mortals through nature (e.g. chirping birds, odd marks on trees or rocks). They also govern the laws of the created universe and ensure the cosmos remains in order.
Aid in the conjuring of miracles. Some Virtues, like Ariel, Angel of Nature, helped teach new angels in the Miracle Track of the Angel Academy. This duty allows them to inspire sparks of faith in the mortals, usually to keep faith in Heaven, preserve their home, and pursue inspiritual endeavors.
Designs are sorta inspired by those moth angels from Hazbin Hotel. ;)
Dominions✨
Managers of the lower choirs of angels, regulating their duties and training.
Givers of divine wisdom and justice.
Help observe the creation and training of new angels and then make sure they act and think as they should.
Maintain order in the world, controlling the stars, planets, and other celestial bodies through orbs and scepters.
They are angels of leadership and hold the highest place amongst common angels.
Act as the justice system for the lower class angels, presiding over court proceedings, showing mercy to innocent souls, and deciding punishments for naughty angels or damned souls.
Basically spokesmen for the 1st (and highest) choir.
Kind of a hodgepodge between the Goetias from Helluva Boss and Brightgost's versions of Demonions.
Choir I
Thrones👁️
Watchers of Heaven, enforcing divine order upon any troublemakers. They oversee big projects, angels' behavior, or "corrective measures" performed on those stepping out of line.
Responsible for monitoring where each new soul goes.
Some souls that the North Wind creates are so bright, so capable of retaining sacred knowledge that they are placed in these flying automaton-esque forms (giving them the power to fly more accurately and project telekinetic beams, btw) so their knowledge could benefit Heaven and it's mission of holiness.
Messengers the planes for any grave, anomalous danger.
Act as chariots for the North Wind, with their heads acting as batteries. Don't worry. They'll charge back up with a little rest!
Sometimes use automaton-like bodies, powered by their own angelic auras to give them more physical autonomy while interacting with lower angelic choirs or mortals.
(Greater) Cherubim

Preachers of divine holiness & justice, often keeping track of all the universe's secrets.
Guard the creation of angels, ensuring they have all the righteous qualities and rooting out any rebels or those who didn't come out quite right... to fix them one way or the next.
Contemplate the North Wind's wisdom and providence. with 4 of them guarding his throne and more presiding over the now-forbidden Eden.
Can sing hymns that act as certain spells, like a hymn that can put people to sleep, boot out someone's soul into another host, or drive foes into madness (sorta inspired by @brightgoat 👌).
Many of them are nonbinary due to their multiple heads.
Seraphim🪽
The North Wind's highest and most mysterious choir of angels. Probably the closest anyone (including most of the angels) are gonna get to being near the North Wind's power.
Usually praise NW's glory, acting as His attendants during His many projects and as agents of purification for particularly special occasions of atonement or guidance.
They are second-in-command in running the natural order across the universe, ensuring there is NO tainting of it by mystical or spiritual means.
Are referred to as the "Fiery Ones" not just for their halos and power over fire (and other fire-related miracles) but also the fact that inside of them is pure, untapped holy light; so any removal of or cracks their masks will literally burn one alive should they lay eyes on their true forms🔥🙀💀!!! They can use their fire to burn away sin or corruption to purify mortal or astral lands, though it's much trickier to burn away angelic (or semi-angelic) messes...
Sing magical hymns like the Cherubim, but can use them to enhance their fire powers or help assemble souls before they entering mortal hosts
Act as the North Wind's spokespeople and mouthpieces for His will (figuratively AND literally) .
Others
Cherubs/Cherubim 👼☁️
The servant class of angels (kinda like Pearls in Steven Universe)
Made to serve their master angels' specific needs as well as help out mortals on their behalf.
Each Cherub is specified to match their assigned angel's personality and what they require (got inspired by @geeky92's Littlest Devil AU).
Have quite the knack for the performing arts (usually determined by who they're made for). I'm talking music, art, and even acting.
Are given special bags once they're assigned. Said bags are capable of holding ANYTHING within this pocket dimension for when they are needed. Weapons? Tools? Literature? Ancient blessings? You name it!
Are designed by the Greater Cherubim (which explains their similar names) as means of ensuring their masters follow their tasks to the letter by having the Cherubs help out and reminding them of important meetings or appointments.
Chalkydri🐍🪽
Serpent-like angels designed to guard the sun to ensure its course runs smoothly each day. Their singing helps raise and lower the sun as well as awaken the animals of the Mortal and Astral Planes to begin a new cycle.
They're also taken with acting as sentries for angelic diplomats or virtuous souls.
Being serpentine, they bore some aquatic power (e.g. hydrokenesis) to help move the tides. It's more to a limited degree than other angels to keep them in line with their original roles (but Levi managed to change that...!).
Punishers👊
Bringers of divine judgement and punishment of particularly sinful people or rogue angels.
They're capable of bringing about all kinds of devastation, crushing stuff like mountains and cities. They don't usually care who or what gets destroyed along the way, purely focusing on punishing their target. This largely stems from their one-track minded natures as automatons fueled by Heavenly icor, unlike other angels and their Throne counterparts inhabited by souls. Though they do seem to care for each other and their masters in battle.
Are often seen alongside the Powers and Archangels in wars.
Fallen Angels👿
Angels that have either rebelled against Heaven or were deemed "defective" and cast out, becoming demons and dark spirits in the process.
Often depicted as beasts keeping humans astray and enabling the worst sides of themselves.
Lucifer led the Rebellion with the 1/3 of angels of Heaven that were cast out for their ideas or powers, to get revenge for how he was treated, and most likely replace the North Wind as ruler of the Astral Plane. But you know how that turns out, Mikey beats him and sends him down to Earth. So he collects souls so the angels can see how they like having something precious taken away.
To this day, the Fallen Angels live in the Seven Rings of Hell, either trying to cause trouble on Earth in revenge for Heaven's treatment of them as well as for sick kicksor survive living in the same plane as mortals that fear them and with a ruler that can singe them for the slightest infracture.🙀
