An unhinged, jealous rant from a Swede upset that the Finnish President Alexander Stubb met President Donald Trump at the White House the other day.
This guy calls us "Little Finland" and "Sweden’s smaller and less important sibling". He says that Sweden is "Finland’s bigger and more impressive brother" and that "Finland needs to remember its place."
Unfortunately, this kind of colonial, imperialistic entitlement still exists in Sweden towards Finland.
If you're a Swede seeing this or run into comments like this online, just remember that this makes your country sound just like Russia. This kind of sentiment is exactly what we and many other countries get from Russia. If you're a Swede encountering this kind of attitude about Finland, please challenge it.
One of these days I'll start collecting Fennophobic YouTube comments from Swedes. Unfortunately, I see them quite often.

Why on earth is the Nordic country with the smallest economy, smallest population and a military that only prides itself on manpower getting even a second of recognition?
Sweden is the biggest and most dominant Nordic country with the most amount of international relevance. Biggest economy, most advanced industries, biggest airforce, navy, IFV force and Submarine force where Little Finland doesn’t even have a submarine force. This is just silly. They barely have a domestic industry that even remotely related to the military sector, where Sweden has a very large domestic arms industry, making everything from Fighter jets, to ship vessels, to submarines to hand held grenade launchers and everything in between.
The only thing Finland has going for them is manpower and artillery, and when looking at the Ukraine war, we can see how manpower is not at all as much of a determaning factor in who wins a modern war, otherwise Russia would have taken over Ukraine within a week, what matters is your technical assets. And Sweden has bigger and better assets than Finland.
Sweden also has the law of total defense that says if Sweden is invaded then every capable person between 16 and 70 years old will defend the country. That blows Finland’s 900 k manpower out of the water, and the Swedish military have very detailed plans on how they would train people in sections to defend against an invasion.
Sweden also has a lot more civil bunker shelters than Little Finland has.
And when this unimpressive president said that Finland has been fighting Russia since the 1300s that is a lie because Finland wasn’t even a country back then and has only existed for little more than 100 years, that was Sweden fighting Russia in the 1300s, not Little Finland.
They even learn Swedish in Finnish schools, Sweden will always be Finland’s bigger and more impressive brother who’s in charge of protecting Northern Europe.
Finland needs to remember its place as Sweden’s smaller and less important sibling.

Kaakkois-Suomessa on Utin lentokenttä, jota Utin jääkärirykmentin NH90-helikopterit käyttävät tukikohtana.
Utin jääkärirykmentillä on käynnissä keväiset pimeälentoharjoitukset. Suomenlahden merivartiosto puolestaan harjoittelee parhaillaan Kotkan edustalla merellä droonien torjuntaa laivoista käsin. Harjoituksissa myös ammutaan.
