Slick new wave intoxication commences as we dissolve into the dreamy synths and gently throbbing beats of Don’t Quit, a song we’re convinced we’ll never quit. The indie pop meets indietronica bop comes from Pure Mids, a trio of musicians whose ranks include Will Gonzalez, Steve Martinez, and Daniel Jurado. The Southern California outfit brings us a blissful swathe of sound that channels shades of The Drums melded with a touch of Wild Nothings, all awash in a diaphanous chillwave atmosphere and a hint of Men I Trust’s muggy nostalgic groove.
