Today it's World Epilepsy Day!!!💜

As someone with epilepsy, it is really important for me to raise awareness over this condition!

So, a guide for people who want to know more about it and what to do in case of a seizure here:

🟣First Aid for an Epileptic Seizure

What to do — and what NOT to do — if you witness a seizure

✅ DO

• Stay calm

• Time the seizure

• Clear dangerous objects away

• Protect the person’s head

• Gently turn them onto their side

• Stay with them until they recover

❌ DO NOT

• Put anything in their mouth

• Hold them down or restrain them

• Give food or water

• Attempt mouth-to-mouth breathing

• Panic

• Leave them alone

🚑 Call emergency services if:

• The seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes

• Seizures happen back-to-back

• It’s their first seizure

• The person is injured

• The person is pregnant

🟣 Education saves lives.

🟣 Epilepsy first aid is everyone’s responsibility.

Also, make sure to share this- you may save lives!

My condition is stable and seizures are rare and under control. But if someone is more unfortunate, it is IMPORTANT to follow those steps.
