I've been thinking about getting another cat as a companion for my indoor cat. While I play with my cat for about a half hour every day and give her access to windows, based on her behavior I feel like she gets lonely when my husband and I are at work/absent. Would having a second cat to keep her company provide any benefits at all? My research has turned up conflicting answers. (Our house is about 2,100 square feet, so there's enough room for two cats.)
It’s going to depend on how the cats get along. If they get along well, another can could certainly be enriching, but if they don’t, at best they ignore each other and at worst they’d both be really stressed.
