honestly when i first realized i was bi at like 13, thinking i had to come out to my parents at some point was so damaging bc for me it meant cutting off my family so i could "be my true self" as an adult. if that works for someone then fine but i hate how it's shown as the only possible way 😭 people say you don't have to come out but it always feels implied that at some point you are supposed to, so i'm glad you talked about it more in depth
