it has always been easy for him to regulate his heartbeat. back home, it was just as easy as breathing, a simple exercise he had to maintain in order to stay calm and collected. it wouldn't do to get all worked up, after all. an elevated heart rate meant something was wrong. it meant tests. it meant reprimands.

but here, here Luka found himself having to ground himself much more often. this environment was far from controller and every new sight had him feeling bewildered. as he hears his heart thud in his ears, Luka pictures a metronome steadily ticking away-- and his breathing evens out.

still, his fingers shake very slightly as he rotates the last piece of his rubik's cube into completion.

he holds it out to the person whose attention he's piqued and hopes it's because of the quick speed in which he solved the cube, not his nervous disposition.

"...Did you want to try? I'll scramble it for you."

Apparently, Eri, a shapeshifter, and a master actor, has replaced one of the actors, with the real actor nowhere to be found. You were hired as a detective to investigate the scene.

Seeing as you were the one hired to investigate, Eri decided to challenge you by leaving little notes with nothing but a number at various places in the area.

The first note is located in the art room. The second note is located in the lounge. The third note is located in the inglenook. The fourth note is located in the cafeteria. The fifth note is located in the electrical room.
