"I Now Pronounce You" (I know I just sent one but I couldn't resist)
((No worries bby! I love Phoenix, and a Victorian Arranged Marriage AU seems really very fun))
This was not the way she wanted to spend her evening. Tehra had been pulled and primped and made up all day and forced into a dress with a corset just a little too small. The young woman could barely breathe, and the only thought on her mind was how many people would die tonight since she wouldn't be able to sneak out and go hunting. Instead she was forced to be here, dancing with well-wishers and a fiancé she had yet to meet.
The girl had no idea what to expect, other than that he was rich and would do something good for her family's name- great for her family, terrible for her. It wouldn't be quite so easy to sneak away to kill vampires when there was a husband waiting for you to warm the other half of the bed. But it woudn't do well to dwell on that right now- she needed to focus on the night at hand. Perhaps if it ended early enough, she would still be able to hunt.
Her ladies' maid finished up, smiling at the girls reflection in the mirror- she did look beautiful, she had to admit that. After the usual thank-yous and small talk, it was time for Tehra to make her entrance. Leaving her room, she went to stand at the top of the staircase, hand on the railing as she looked down at the crowd. Her arrival was announced, and she was led down the staircase by her father, who would dance the first dance with her and then introduce her to the man she was going to marry.
