With a huff, the older woman shrieked at the young lady before her. “Lady Darcy, why on Westeros are you wearing a Sack?! You should be dressed for your sister’s engagment party tonight!” Lady Darcy Tyrell turned to her handmaiden with a grin and turned to undo her hairstyle. “No party for me tonight, Greta! I’m going out, don’t wait up.” Greta pursed her wrinkled lips and held out an exquisite gown to her lady. “Most certainly not! King Joffrey would be very cross if his future sister-in-law were not to show up! What would your Grandmother say?” Darcy scoffed as she removed her jewelry, expect for a small golden chain with a very tiny rose as the pendant. “King Joffrey wouldn’t bat an eye if I were to not show up. He barley acknowledges my presence at breakfast.” she said. ‘Same to Margery.’ she added silently. Satisfied with her appearance, Dracy turned to exit her chambers. “As for my dear Nan, she would only laugh and tell stories of how she snuck out when she was my age. Ta!” With that she close the door, Greta too stunned to speak.
There was hardly any ruckus going about the halls at this hour, it was only sunset. The party wouldn’t start until much later after. This was the perfect time to go exploring King’s Landing. Darcy smiled as she touched her small pouch of bronze, silver and gold dragons. Darcy was always one for charity, especially to children, which King’s Landing were chock full of orphans. The small brunette scurried out of the great halls and to the servants quarters. No one paid any mind to her, since she was in commoner clothes. Perks of being the unpopular sibling, she supposed. Gliding to the door, Darcy was finally out of the clutches of the castle and down a back alley headed toward the city. She pulled her small hood up, her chestnut tresses flowing out the side.
The cool air filled her nostrils with a pleasant scent of freedom and the slight odor of the less fortunate. Darcy quickly made her rounds of random acts to kindness to those who need it. She felt such joy at this moment, to freely walk around with no talks of politics, no wars, no King’s or Queens or sister and brothers. She just simply let herself be one with the world.
