Oh, sweet Prince, would you care to be mine?
For a second, the light sparked in the prince’s eyes. The woodsman had become a special thing to the prince. A temporary break from his general brash personality, to instead be replaced with a certain… Warmth. Jack would have to be the only one in the whole land to class him as “sweet”.
Perhaps that was what burned the light out from his gaze. He was weak for the other—- too weak. It wouldn’t go for a future king. He knew that he and Jack had been getting too close, but pushing away would hurt too much. It ached deep in his soul to even refuse this.
But he was a prince, while Jack was nothing more than a peasant. The offer was stupid, worthless—-
Desired.
His expression fell back into an almost blank one; lips pulled into a thin line. He has to speak strong and loud so he can drown out the sound of his own heart shattering.
"…You act as though you deserve me, even though I’m so high above you."
