33: Tell me a story.
oh dear okay. a couple years ago after my mum and i graduated university, our family took a trip to England, Wales, and Ireland for three weeks. i had majored in Celtic studies at university so going to Ireland was the best thing to ever happen to me. during our second week, we stayed a few nights in this little house we rented in Conwy, Wales. it’s a small city on the harbour with a castle and also the smallest house in Great Britain. our house was right next to the city wall, most of which was under construction while we were there, and from the backyard we could see the castle. it was a two-storey, two-bedroom house at the top of the hill from the train station. well i wasn’t about to share a bedroom (on my period during the time) with my older brother so i slept on the couch on the first floor. well, the first night, we’d all shut off the lights and gone to bed. maybe ten minutes later my dad comes halfway down the stairs and ask if i’d been walking around. i was definitely not walking but he said both he and my mum had heard footsteps. i didn’t think much of it at the time but i’m pretty sure the house was haunted. we were near an 800 year old castle, so i wouldn’t be surprised if the whole city was haunted. still spooks me.
