I know we still have roughly three weeks until @chromosome23hq officially closes shop, but I wanted to make sure I made this and posted it when: 1) I had the time, and 2) people are still lurking around.

The longest RP I ran was for eleven months in 2016. At the end of its run, a member posted a video they had planned on posting on our one year anniversary (but, by then, I was the only mod and I wanted to die). This has stuck with me and, even now, I still go back to watch it every now and again. 

Mind you, her editing skills were far superior to my own and her formatting of the video was very different (but gotta keep it organized, right?). In any case, credit to her for inspiring this.

Now, into the spiel:

C23 has truly been the best roleplay experience of my entire career. Every character was so unique, every mun was such a brilliant writer, it felt like a family, and the admins genuinely cared. Be it because of member inactivity or admins losing motivation, it’s so easy for RPs to die within a week nowadays, but this one truly thrived! And I thank the admins so much for that. Every plot-drop was just as exciting as the last, every narrative point was just as fun to explore.

I don’t know if I’ll ever find another open RP that is even slightly akin to this one. Like... I literally had a thread with Gray where Vera and Ezra were vivisecting each other and loving it... I just don’t think things like that, and FCs like Abe Sapien and King Shark, happen very often in the RPC! And I am so grateful that we got to branch into the strange and outlandish here. 

Izzy, Kashia, Tin -- thank you for making this such a wonderful experience. And Tibby, wherever you are, thank you for the months you spent refining, too! Every time I get dressed for my ‘Jason’s victim’ role, I think of you. This admin team is absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad I got to know each and every one of y’all. Care about the RP, care about the members! I hope you all enjoyed it just as much as we did.

Finally, Tin? I hope this RP lasting ~15 months longer than you thought it would was worth it! That sounds sarcastic, but it’s not!

the influx of new recruits had set mark on edge. trust was something to be earned -- trust couldn’t just be given in exchange for something that could be considered a heinous crime... or, in the case of the new recruits, all three of them, just breaking a guy out of prison. if he already had difficulty trusting new folks joining the team ( team... ) for a year at least, three people of roughly the same age with the same degree of... a nice look ? 

but he would humor it. after all, everyone had been new once. many had even had that nice look -- hell, some still did. he’d had it -- or as close to it as he could have... still, similarities would never build that bridge. acts of terrorism, cruelty, unruliness -- never build that bridge. all that ever could was time and observation.

and what else did he have ? “ you take bourbon ? ” he asked one of the new recruits ( name ? ), still staring straight ahead. “ on me. ”

'it’s okay to eat fish ‘cause they don’t have any feelings.’ anatomically ? ...okay, maybe when it came to fish caught in a sea or a lake. emotionally ? seven was right there ! -- and it had seemed far too long since the two had spoken ( may says because seven is the only long-term escapee jess hasn’t had a thread yet -- in fact, barring august, the only character of cola’s that may hasn’t written against in general ! ) but two hours before her routine ? during such time she had found herself in a man’s home ? well... the man had sushi, and that was just a sign ! reverse birthday present ! it looked high-quality !

it was easy enough to track seven down ( namely because may doesn’t know where the hell he would be in the early evening and cola isn’t awake to offer some insight, but may assumes jess would know. cola, god-mod this setting so hard ) ! and that’s all i’ll say about that -- refer to the parenthetical ! “ seven, look at this spread ! if it doesn’t scream high-quality, i don’t know what does. ”

Day 17 - Favourite LGBTQIA+ video game moment

I am only in a few video game franchises, and none of them have good LGBTQIA+ moments, if any...so I guess my favourite LGBTQIA+ moments would be when I ship my sims with each other 😂😂.

September 17th, 1998: 10:25 PM:

It had been fourteen hours since she began. And they had been the most productive fourteen hours in the past year, maybe more! Certainly she was on her way, wasn’t she? On her way to a newer, cleaner, better life. One that was neither sullied by her mother or by Lux’s ghost. Why had she been so intent on letting such a cruel spirit haunt her? Oh, the questions she had for herself!

Double-checking to make sure that the bottle was still in the trash, a point to be made to herself after her little incoherent conversation with the Candy Girl, she settled with satisfaction. She’d heard stories of nights following ‘getting clean’ before, each one worse than the last, but she could do it. Hell, she’d survived the entire day! And it wasn’t the pill she craved, just Lux’s ghost.

But Lux’s ghost had pushed her over the edge when she finally succeeded in convincing her to message Candy Kaczynski. Oh, how she preferred to pretend it had been Lux’s fault – genuinely Lux’s fault – and not the fault of her mind, finally pushing itself to its limit. It made the story easier on her.

A routine. Shower, dress, hair, face, teeth.

Bed.
