COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ :: marvel’s delinquent acts ( a marvel original series )
In addition to series such as WANDAVISION, THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, and LOKI, Marvel has announced a new series: DELINQUENT ACTS. See below for a brief summary:
Go back to the beginning. Before Thanos, before Ultron, even before the Avengers saved New York. Learn how Agent Proctor and Agent Dawson became the characters you’ve seen in various Marvel movies. Welcome to the S.H.I.E.L.D Academy for troubled youths.
Starring MAUDE APATOW (Euphoria, Assassination Nation) as Q Proctor and AUSTIN ABRAMS (Euphoria, This is Us) as Anthony “Dawson” Starowicz, the new series was announced at San Diego Comic Con alongside other Marvel projects. After helping to announce the BLACK WIDOW movie, AARON STANFORD stayed onstage and was joined by EMMY ROSSUM to introduce the show and welcome their younger counterparts to the stage. The Marvel actors had nothing but kind words to say about Apatow and Abrams.
“We were involved with the casting process, which was very nice of Kevin.” Rossum said while onstage before introducing Apatow and Abrams.
“Oh yeah,” Stanford agreed, “I even texted you when I saw my kid. I was like ‘This kid looks just like me! Did they make him in a lab?!’”
“Emmy and Aaron have been playing these characters for ten years now, so of course they’re very protective of them. I wanted to make sure the actors we chose had their stamp of approval.” Kevin Feige, executive producer of the series commented.
Both Apatow and Abrams star in HBO’s Euphoria, with fellow Marvel star Zendaya, but had yet to share a scene together in the HBO show.
“I’m excited to get to work with Austin more,” Apatow brightly answered during a conversation with Entertainment Weekly on the San Diego Comic Con carpet, “I mean he’s been great during our table reads, so I’m excited to kind of dive into these two well-known characters and get more into their pasts.”
"Right, like, we’ve gotten little hints of their past here and there in the movies,” Abrams agreed before continuing, “But this show allows us to really explore it a bit more. See that friendship from the beginning.”
Based on the small clip shown at Comic Con, it wasn’t best friend-ship at first sight for Q and Dawson. Guess we’ll just have to wait until late 2022 to see how it develops.
No word yet as to how the series will tie into the original movies. Or if there will be any guest appearances from other Marvel characters, though we suspect there might be a Nick Fury cameo here or there. The series is set to premiere in late 2022, only on Disney+.
