i've been especially rewatching fit's vods and seeing his relationship with ramon is so interesting bc at the start he's so hot and cold with the kid.

i get why, firstly, he's doing this for survival (or at least he's trying to convince himself he is), he doesn't care ab the kid, he just needs him to be happy so when the egg grows up, he doesn't attack qfit; or in the case the mother dragon comes back, she is happy with the treatment of the eggs and doesn't kill qfit.

the second reason he doesn't want to admit to himself that much, but is that he doesn't wanna get attached, ramon might die at any moment, and connections are dangerous always, especially when they are to someone weak that can easily be used as leverage over the veteran, so it's safer to keep the distance.

the problem is, he IS getting attached, he DOES care ab the kid, he takes a bit of time (and by a bit of time i mean a couple of weeks) but he does, so he keeps showing glimpses of caring, with nicknames, gifts, and general consideration over his son.

idk it's interesting how we can see his slow growth so soon into the series, idk how purposeful it was, but it is pretty cool
