Qualitative research with autistic adults identify that too much of program evaluation looks at "improvement in symptoms", sometimes terribly surrounding "reducing autistic traits", when autistic adults want programs that support in building wellbeing, AND, not having arbitrary goal posts as measurement. Some people will want more social connection in a neurodivergent friendly way, and some people have no interest in social connection. Using scales like the Goal Attainment Scale is important to be able to tailor to specific needs when looking at effectiveness of a group.

Imane Kostet shared a qualitative study asking about BIPOC autistic adults' experiences, finding patterns that often BIPOC autistic people are told they can't really be autistic because people will attribute their neurodivergent traits entirely to cultural differences.

The shoutout to the Autistic Autism Diagnosticians Collective, a group of autistic clinicians who may assess and diagnose autism to come together to develop guidelines for autism assessment from lived experience.

Fisting Subjectivity: Narratives of Sexual Subjectivity Among Gay Fist-Fuckers

In the kinkster and explorer narratives it is particularly evident that the disarticulation of fist-play from the penis gives rise to a “different economy of bodies and pleasures” (Simula, 2019, p. 209) and provides a less phallocentric framework for making sense of desire, practice, and pleasure. Here, fist-fucking does not appear to be a “narrow” project simply seeking to achieve (genital) orgasmic release, but a more holistic, fulfilling, and multidimensional project of exploring erotic intensities that enable fist-fuckers to tap into otherwise inaccessible physical, psychological, and spiritual horizons.

I asked Grok how much work it takes for a typical PhD and was told about 2,000-4,000 total hours over 3-7 years. I then asked it to estimate how long it would take to smash this specific paper out, to which it replied "weeks to months." I then asked it to recalculate assuming AI transcription and thematic auto-coding, which are features of a program called NVivo. Recalculated time: 3-5 weeks.

This person could have easily gotten a PhD with no more than 5 weeks work.

Leaving that aside for a moment, "qualitative" means subjective interpretation. "Quantitative" is, obviously, objectively measurable and quantifiable. "Qualitative" is not, and is both untestable and unfalsifiable by design, so cannot be regarded as objectively true.

Postmodernists love to insist that science is imbued with the values of whoever is doing it, which is why they reject science from people whose characteristics they find "problematic." The same people also insist "lived experience" is valid and conduct exclusively qualitative "research." And we're supposed to pretend that this kind of naked fraud is not all their own projection. "Microaggressions" are ideological right from the off, so from the fifth word of the title, the whole thing has already fallen apart.

Onto-epistemological position

I'm a PhD student in social sciences (family studies/education). I'm trying to find myself in the sea of paradigm. I don't fucking know what am I -- hence my name: Am i a feminist?

I hope to find out if I am a critical feminist, poststructuralist, posthumanist or whatever the fuck it's right thing for me to be. I think it is feminist, but I don't like TERF.
