would you guys apprechiate my epic comic i made in art class? no one seemed to get it (...) (the last panel is supposed to be me, laughing about this quantum physics thing above... and if i remember correctly, sometimes when observed/measured quantum particles change to functioning like waves, even tho they dont behave like that when not measured or somthing like that!? if i got it right maybe you'll get it :D) i dont even know if i made it right (or if my knowledge of quantum physics is complitely wrong) , but i tought it was so stupid its funny, and maybe someone relates to staying awake thinking about random science stuff :'D

Quantum physics: Ménage à trois photon-style

Entanglement is one of the properties specific to quantum particles. When two photons become entangled, for instance, the quantum state of the first will correlate perfectly with the quantum state of the second, even if they are at a distance from one another. But what happens when three pairs of entangled photons are placed in a network? Researchers at the University of Geneva (UNIGE), Switzerland, working in partnership with Tehran's Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), have proved that this arrangement allows for a new form of quantum correlation in theory. When the scientists forced two photons from separate pairs to become entangled, the connection was also made with their twin photon present elsewhere in the network, forming a highly correlated triangle. These results, published in the journal Physical Review Letters, create the potential for new applications in cryptography.

Researchers have implemented an experimental test for quantum scrambling, a chaotic shuffling of the information stored among a collection of quantum particles. The experiment was originally inspired by the physics of black holes. Quantum scrambling is one suggestion for how information can fall into a black hole and come out as random looking radiation. “I have a question about Quantum fields. If we model particle properties as excitations of various independent fields (Higgs field for mass, EM field for charge etc) then what causes these excitation waves to travel around together? Is there really some kind of particle entity underlying these waves?”

If all we had were empty space with no other constraints on it, it seems like the quantum fields that permeate all of space could take on any values at all. But somehow, that isn’t what we see. We don’t see a continuum of particles with masses, charges, or other properties that have continuous and unconstrained values. Instead, particles come in specific varieties and none other, with explicit values that appear to be quantized and discrete. There’s a reason for this, too, which is underpinned by the mathematical structure of the Standard Model, and can be summed up in two words: boundary conditions.
