QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT ˖ִ𖤐

quantum entanglement: one of the most far-out phenomena of quantum theory—the idea that particles of the same origin, which were once connected, will forever remain connected, no matter their distance, in space and time. they become so inextricably intertwined, that scientists can not possibly think of them separately. instead, their individual identities are replaced with an entwined whole.

Melody Jones has spent the majority of her life protecting—either herself, or the handful of people she cares about. In the few instances she doesn't have her shoulders braced for impact, she spends in studying—in books, and observation. she deems connections irrelevant. a distraction from work. the only time she'd ever entertained such would be college, circa 1999, namely, one spencer reid. she manages to deem him irrelevant too, though. that is until, he passes by her desk at the behavioural analysis unit.

chapter 1: convergence.

melody jones joined the bau to escape her past. turns out, one of the (only) good parts of it got there first. how is she meant to upkeep the new emotionless, capable, strong agent persona when he keeps unravelling her by merely being himself?

chapter 2: accretion.

melody gives in and allows herself a conversation with spencer, which turns out to reveal unexpected things about both parties. mainly, how they ended up here, of all places. she meets the rest of the team, gets tackled by a very colourful garcia, teased by morgan, and starts her first case.

chapter 3: in plain sight.

as the case unfolds, melody strives to prove herself capable. staring at 17th century ballads, forgetting dinner, and drowning in crime scene photos, yet still remaining plagued by an inconsistency in the profile that nobody else seems to notice.

chapter 4: reticence.

the case has closed, everyone's made it out in one piece. although, a sliver of confusion bothers the team, ie, the fact that their newest agent is still quiet, keeps to herself, and compartmentalizes a little too well. clearly, she couldn't care less about any of them.

chapter 5: twenty fourth orbits.

spencer's never celebrated his birthday. melody doesn't enjoy the notion of an entire day supposedly about her. both of them wish to get it over with. both of their wishes do not come true. especially when melody comes home to something far scarier than socialising.

Stages of the Shousetsu Bang*Bang Life Cycle

1. Pollination: Brought in on the breeze, bits of queer ideas float until they reach a place where they can take root and become fertile. Some queer smut is self-pollenating, while others need inspiration from outside sources.

2. Seeds:  Self-explanatory.

3. Germination: Ideas begin to emerge, some over the course of several weeks or even months, some as quickly as in a single afternoon.

4. Root and Leaf Growth: As these ideas develop, they produce more mature (in all senses) contexts. Original character arcs and narrative complexity develop. Smut forms.

5. New Shousetsu Bang*Bang Issue: Every two months, a new free issue emerges. While no two issues are exactly alike, to survive in the harsh environment of the internet, each issue must contain the vital elements of queer romance, erotic satisfaction, and happily-ever-afters.

6. Fertilization: Community members leave comments of appreciation and encouragement. Distribution is aided by sharing on social media and through other platforms. New pollination ensues in preparation for the next issue.
