It's the first week of fall quarter over here. I survived. A few moments felt like pure chaos, such as finding out that Northwestern, where I was to take a class this quarter through an exchange program, started two weeks early due to covid! And no one in my program knew! And after panicking about being ~700 pages behind on reading for the class (the prof said he was happy to have me join late still), the program rejected my application anyway because they blanket rejected anyone who applied after the quarter started.... Even though their application was still open after the quarter started and had no info about the quarter beginning early. What even. But other than that things were mostly okay. Also I got a couch delivered this week. Never again will I do that on the first week of the quarter, it was a fiasco. This stuff on top of, ya know, new classes and covid weirdness and 3 RAships that picked up a lot the last few weeks. So it's been busy in lots of ways.
Today felt wildly busy but productive. I got up at 7am, did laundry and tidied the kitchen, walked to campus to get my flu shot, then walked to a friend's place to pick up stuff so I can take care of her cat, then came home and vacuumed and mopped, then had two meetings and did some scheduling and email catch up, then folded the laundry and cleaned the cats' bowls and litterbox, then cooked some food, then had another meeting... Andhen I collapsed. On my new couch. Happy Friday.
Can never resist a latte from Ex Lib. Or 40.

I’m back!!
I’m pretty sure my last post was last July. ._. But I’m here today and that’s the important part. My goal is to post more original content and maybe some useful text posts? We’ll see... The biggest thing is for this to motivate me. :) I’d also love to get to know some of y’all! Last time around I was really just looking through a window at the studyblr community...
So this is the spread I’ve been using this whole quarter and I LOVE it! It is spread out enough to fit everything, but not too big either. And I like having the main tasks page to organize the mess of my brain. So at the beginning of the quarter, I prepped my bujo through the end of May, so you’ll be seeing a lot of this spread and the different ways it can be used.
Hi! I was just accepted as a transfer student and I am so excited! I haven't gotten any information on housing or class registration yet. How does that work for transfers? I'm nervous not all my credits will transfer (my college was in a quarter system). Also, how does public transportation work? I know about the buses between the 5 colleges, but how convenient is it to take other buses to other places? How much does it cost? Thank you!
Hey there! I’m so excited for you because I’m also a transfer at Smith and I was pretty confused about all that stuff. Great question since I also came from a quarter system! Your classes will be assessed by Smith based on “Credit Hours” and for me some of my class credits did not fully transfer. For example, I took an Intro Chem class that was worth 5 credits and at Smith the same class was worth 5 credits, but I was only given 3.334 credits (multiply the credit by ⅔). You can petition if you want, and the registrar’s office is really understanding. Important to note that this was not true for all of my friends that transferred because it depends on the college and the classes you took. If there are any shortages in credits that you don’t feel like petitioning, there are a lot of opportunities to make them up like taking 1 or 2 credit classes during the academic year or during January Term.
The transportation around here is great! I love the Pioneer Valley Transportation System (PVTA) because it’s really easy to use and timely. 5 college students ride the bus for free during the academic school year with the exception of breaks which means one bus ride would cost $1.25 and any transfer you make would be an additional $1.25 - unless you’re going somewhere like Holyoke Mall which would be free. To the other five colleges, bus time can range from 30 - 70 minutes ranging on traffic, some of the colleges are a lot easier to get to than others. Here is a link to information about the buses that can take you to the 5 colleges and the buses that are the most used: M40, B43, 38, 39 which I linked the bus schedules to. Sorry if this is long!

03.23.17 Some review I did to cram before my philosophy final. I am officially done with finals!! This finals week was much more stressful than the last one mainly because I had terrible time management. I spent way too much time studying for my first final when I should have distributed my time for each class more evenly. Oh well, at least I'll know for next time. Good luck to those of you who still have finals!
