It had taken only days for Bail and Breha to come to love the child, though initially Bail had worried that they may have been entrusted with too great a challenge. Given their parentage, chances were high that the Skywalker twins would be powerful in the Force. What if Leia should show early signs of following in the dark footsteps of her father? Bail had wondered. Yoda had eased his mind. Anakin hadn't been born to the dark side, but had arrived there because of what he had experienced in his short life, instances of suffering, fear, anger, and hatred. Had Anakin been discovered early enough by the Jedi, those emotional states would never have surfaced.

Breha: If your father teaches you one more swear word, I'm going to explode.

I want an AU that post clone wars, Breha and Organa take in enemies of the Empire by claiming them as spouses and giving them diplomatic immunity. Their polycule quickly grows because Organa keeps finding all these spies and defectors that are doing a terrible job at staying out of trouble and need their asses to be covered. It starts with a couple of defected clone troopers.

Their able to get away with it for a while because everytime the galactic press asks about Organa gets all defensive and accuses the public of saying that all clone troopers look the a like.

'That's my husband,' Breha insists. She's been adamant that the last eighteen clone troopers the press have photographed her with are her husband and a royal consort. A video goes viral of Gregor in Ryloth participating in citizen riots and shortly after the royal family of Alderaan releases a statement apologizing for his actions but reminds every one that the Queen's consort has galactic immunity. Gregor has never met Organaor Breha but they were kind enough to invite him to the polycule groupchat afterwards to help keep the stories straight. When Organa is asked to give a statement explaining why his husband was seen on Ryloth, Coruscant, Alderaan and Tatooine, Organa just goes on an affectionate tangent about how much their consort likes to travel.

Palpatine can't do much about it at first. But then Breha keeps adding more people. An outspoken republic supporter, former members of the admiralty that refuse to hold a position in the imperial army. Organa holds a press conference announcing his nuptials to the defected engineer of the Death Star, Galen Erso and his wife. It becomes a galactic joke that the Royal Family of Alderaan is larger than the Imperial Senate. Nobody cares until one day Breha and Organa start introducing their new consorts that look suspiciously like supposedly deceased Jedi Generals.

'That looks a lot like Quinlan Vos,' someone on the internet points out. Don't be ridiculous. Breha points out that the Jedi have been extinct for years. There's no way she could be married to former Jedi knights, Quinlan Vos, Shaak Ti, Aayla Secura, Luminara Unduli. A photo is released of several royal consorts to Alderaan practicing with lightsabers. Don't be ridiculous. Organa points out that fake lightsabers are a common toy that the children of Alderaan often play with.

Finally, Organa and Breha throw a giant wedding and get married to another consort. It's broadcasted to the entire galaxy and this new consort bears a striking resemblance to former Jedi Council Member Obi-Wan Kenobi. Palpatine is fully having an aneurysm watching the entire thing. He sends a wedding gift and its sent back with an apology letter because unfortunately the new royal consort is allergic to Palpatine's vibes. In this AU Alderaan doesn't get blown up because Vader refuses to indirectly kill Obi-Wan but he can't attack the planet because technically killing a Royal Consort would make the rest of the Imperial Senate very unhappy and Palpatine is a terrible leader that knows any kind of political turmoil would cause his entire system of government to fall apart.

Any most of the clones are safe/sane/happy living on Alderaan with the few Jedi that survived and had made their way to the planet's surface. Breha and Organa are awarded a plaque by the space Guinness book of records for having the most legal spouses in the galaxy.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’S BEEN THREE YEARS SINCE THE OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES CAME OUT!!?

It feels like it was yesterday when I was absolutely loosing my mind over finally getting to see the organa family together, and most importantly, hearing Breha talk!

I recently rewatched it and, all things considered, there’s something about the Alderaan scenes that never really convinced me. I could be just me, but I have the feeling they made Leia’s parents a little too cold, especially Breha, if we compare her to her characterization in Leia: princess of Alderaan, where she’s the absolute best mother ever.

So, instead of putting my complaints into a post, I got down to work.

I decided to write a retelling of the few scenes we got of them, this time with them acting a little bit warmer towards Leia and everything she went through.

Bail Organa probably heard that Hera Syndulla was pregnant and went into panic mode. This man has watched his wife go through multiple miscarriages and nearly died from her pregnancies. This man watched his friend die on the delivery table to bring her twins into the galaxy. He probably went into overprotective, panic mode and Hera probably let him once he explained.

Bail probably heard Hera went to scarif and had flashbacks to Padme returning from Mustafar.

He probably wished and prayed and begged the Force that it leave Hera and her child be because he didn’t want to lose his friend or watch Hera lose any one else.

Hera probably called Bail as soon as Jacen was born and told him about the baby. Bail’s last thoughts before he died was worry for Leia and gratitude that at least one of his friends survived childbirth with her child.

How much do you want to bet that Bail and Breha thought Leia was dead before Alderaan was destroyed?

Remember that Darth Vader ordered to “send a distress signal and then inform the Senate that all aboard were killed” when he first captures Leia.

That kind of information would have spread like wildfire in the political circles that Bail and Breha would have been involved in. Maybe not everyone would have known Leia was on the ship, but Bail and Breha totally did. So, when the news comes through, they may not have a reason to think Leia was alive aside from any parental gut feelings.

When they died, Bail and Breha were more than likely were mourning for their daughter’s death and thought they were going to see Leia in the afterlife.
