Queen Mipha
Idk, something about dainty Mipha, and very dainty female characters in general I think, really puts me off, I’m not sure why. I think that may have been why I originally felt a bit averse to her character. I’ve been finding more characterizations that I like though and I’ve been warming up to her.
Started on this at around 10 so it’s now technically the 25th but whatev, doesn’t count as the next day until I’ve gone to sleep.

...anyway, for mermay, here is an AU Mipha who lives to be several hundred years old. Her design was based on Queen Rutela from Twilight Princess, but I ended up drawing various inspirations from angels, butterflies, jellyfish, nudibranchs, etc as the drawing got a bit out of control.
Yes, she does have legs, they’re just hidden under all the fins. If she was on land she’d have basically a bridal train of fins dragging on the ground.
Yes, she is much bigger at this point, at least 1.5 x Sidon’s height in game.
Her AU backstory is that she does rule as queen for some time, but eventually passes the throne to Sidon, and retires to a hidden spring that becomes known for its magical healing properties. Her growth slows after she gives up her throne, but her body changes to suit her underwater lifestyle.

(lol, I’ve drawn her design twice and it’s already inconsistent. I’ve left the jewelery and some details off for this size comparison, but this is how her fins are supposed to attach... i got confused somewhere between my rough sketch and the finished painting so they’re not quite right but I just wanted to finish the damn thing)
