The characters are morally grey and very compelling. Zelda is an intelligent, calculating, and pragmatic. She is cunning and uses this to her advance when it comes to manipulation. The critiques of colonialism and propaganda are also sharp from the very start. - Schneeflakes
Political intrigue, murders, imminent war, scandalous romance, this story has the makings of an absolute epic. The story opens with Zelda plotting the murder of her father, because she believes that the war with the Gerudo he wants to embark on will be terrible. She's no gentle and soft princess, she's a force of nature, a sorceress who controls time and can create echoes. And all she wants is whatever she figures is best for everyone. She is a delightfully grey character, and only reaffirms it as the story continues. This is just three chapters in, but I'm very invested in this Zelda and how perilously she totters near the edge of darkness, and in her personal guard Link, who's a completely inefficient conscience, but a formidable source of unconditional love and support. Can't wait to see where they end up. - Karama9
A tale packed with political intrigue and magical consequence, this work starts on a serious commitment and only continues to grow as Zelda's actions face their consequences. Very excited to see where Hyrule ends up in the wake of her decisions. - amelias-hart
