A little cry could be heard through the monitor beside her head, prompting Pyrrha to wake quickly with a little surprised noise. She gave a little sigh, rubbing her eyes as she climbed out of the tangled mess that was the blankets and legs. She padded down to Astrid’s room, stopping once she reached the open door. An all too familiar mess of ginger hair was already there, rocking the child as she bounced around the room. Even at 2 am, Nora always was moving, as long as she was somewhat awake, anyways. Pyrrha watched for a few moments, the baby still whimpering a little. She slipped out to the kitchen, returning with a bottle and gently settling an arm around her teammate’s shoulders. She shook the bottle a little, Nora just giving a little tired chuckle and nodding as she took it. Astrid calmed almost instantly, feet kicking a little as she ate. Pyrrha smiled and rested her head against Nora’s, a little contented sigh coming from her. “Next time, let me get her, okay? You look a little tired,”
Nora bumped her with her hip, a little sleepy huff coming from her. “You’re not much better, Pyrrha. You just got back from that mission in Mistral. You need sleep, too.” They both just sighed, then quickly broke into little giggles. “Nevertheless, it’s good to see you,” Pyrrha muttered, nuzzling the shorter’s head as she watched the little one all but devour the milk. She couldn’t help but laugh, earning a sideways glance from the other. “She’s just like her mother,” she teased, quickly stepping aside before the shorter could hit her with her hip or elbow. Nora shot her a little look, though it quickly dissolved into a smile as she shifted the baby and started to pat her back. “Very funny, Pyrrha. Just wait. You never know what will happen~” she shot back, a wicked smirk crossing her face.
That got the taller to look away with a snort, though a low chuckle came from her. “Well, you’re right about one thing. Who knows what will happen?” She shook her head with a little smile, glancing toward the doorway, blinking at the two shadows there. Ren and Jaune gave the two women a look, the blond rubbing his eyes tiredly. “Do you even know the definition of a whisper?” he asked sleepily, taking a few steps in before he yawned. Ren followed after him, shaking his head before he approached Pyrrha, welcoming her back with a slightly amused look. “You’re both right, who knows.” Jaune just gave a nod, his head quickly resting against Nora’s shoulder, to which she huffed. “Of all of us, you choose the one holding the baby.” They all laughed, halting when a loud burp interrupted them. That just made them laugh even harder, Astrid giving a little coo from Nora’s arms.
All was well that night, the four of them each sending the child off with a kiss and good night once she became sleepy, returning to bed and quickly falling asleep once again.
