Where: Early Bird Coffee & Kitchen (613 Queen St West, Toronto) When: Sunday, November 12, 2017 What: Eggs Benedict (2 poached eggs over potato latkes, smashed avocado, beet hollandaise) + mixed greens. How Much: $12.50 (+3 to add sausage patty or bacon) Comments: The pink eggs benny was definitely an instagram sensation lately. I added the sausage patty onto mine. Loved the potato latkes base and the avocado & sprouts in between. It was just the right amount of food for me. The food was delicious (thank goodness) but the format to get seated and order was pretty chaotic for weekend brunch. The cafe is small, and we waited in line for about 45+ min to get seated (which, fine, can be standard for brunch on the weekend) only to realize we then had to get up to order at the counter, so another 15 min in line waiting to order. Then a wait to get our beverages to bring it back to our table. I see how this format could work perfectly fine on a regular day that wasn’t busy with brunch service but with their pink eggs benny a growing internet sensation, I feel they might need to rethink their weekend format. There were a lot of confused people wanting to get coffee to go that were put off by the huge lines. It was over an hour before we were finally seated and waiting for our food, overall we ended up spending 2.5 hrs here! #eggsbenedict #eggsbenny #brunch #Toronto #QueenStreet #QueenStreetW #EarlyBirdBrew #pink #pinkeggsbenny #pinkeggsbenedict #food #foodstagram (at Early Bird Coffee & Kitchen)
