You will not be the old person who always has a hard candy in their purse until the day you acquire hard candies and decide to put some in your purse.
Anyway I'm a strawberry bon bon old person, hmu

Could my transgender perspective on aging change how you experience growing older?
It’s strange as a trans person to read about other people’s fears of aging. Being transgender gives me a very different perspective on these milestones. I love being around elderly people and honestly envy them. I get especially excited to see elderly LGBTQ+ people. Seeing elderly trans people… I can’t begin to explain what it means to me to have this tangible evidence that my wife, my loved ones, and I can all get old together. It makes me so happy to see images of our people aging.
I remember the first time I met a trans woman in her 60s in person. It meant everything to me. I couldn’t even speak to her. I just listened to her speaking, unable to wipe the giant grin off of my face. This wasn’t a feeling that I could explain at the time. I was still in the closet…even to myself. I had no words for the hope that just seeing her in the flesh was growing inside of me. A year later, I’d find the words to describe a life-altering part of who I was: a nonbinary trans man.
Guys we need to work so much harder on reclaiming "age is just a number" from creeps who want to hit on teens.
Age is just a number is also good for:
Hitting milestones like graduation, career goals, and home ownership at the right time for the person in question rather than at the time and in the order society demands.
Aspects of queer time, like only getting all the 'early' relationship experiences straight people had in highschool, or doing puberty as is right for you when you transition, when you're in your 20s 30s 40s or whenever you come out.
Explaining the wildly immature behaviour of grown ass adults. Some people have to grow up really young, some people are still learning (or refusing to learn) the basics of decency and adult behaviour when they've been out in the world for decades. We dont need to pathologise these people sometimes they need to grow up.
Anyway dont let cisheteronormativity/sexism/patriarchy/capitalism dictate when you live your life. Start new degrees or new hobbies in your 80s, change career path in your 30s, write that book in your 60s, fall in love for the first time in your 50s.
Age is just a number, age is just a number, age is just a number.
