Even though October has passed, every day really can be Halloween if you want it to. However, this photo set is from Halloween, and this is what I wore to work that day. I have no idea why my eyes are closed in the first photo, maybe I was thinking of all the reasons Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Glasses - these glasses are from Eye Buy Direct, they have great styles at even better prices. The glasses are not made of wood, but they did offer this same style (or one very much like it) in actual wood, at a higher price. I get a lot of compliments on them, too.
Shirt - the orange button down shirt is a Croft & Barrow shirt from Kohl’s. I have been appreciating orange more and more as a color I should add to my wardrobe, though I don’t have much of it yet.
Tie - the tie is a thrift find, as most of my ties are. I particularly like finding ones with unusual designs, even if it means I don’t have lots of opportunities to wear them. This tie has a label that says “Made exclusively for the Seattle Art Museum,” and I love the crow pattern on it, and think the yellow background is what makes the tie ‘pop.’ Another label tells me that the tie is 100% silk and hand made.
Sweater Jacket - this grey sweater jacket (is that even what you call them?) is a Dockers creation, by way of JC Penney. As an aside, I read yesterday that the current CEO of Penney has been focusing on plus size clothing as one avenue to increase revenue at their stores. I don’t know if that would include big & tall. If my current shopping trends are any indication, I’ve been less motivated to purchase from them online than I have in the past. For example, this winter season I wanted to add more sweaters to my wardrobe, and the selection at Penney’s website was small, surprisingly small. They do have good deals, though, and the Foundry line that they sell seems to be of good quality. I bought this particular piece a couple of years ago, though.
Pants - as I have mentioned before, I am in complete and utter love with the Tommy Hilfiger Academy Flat-Front Chinos, and this black pair is the third pair I’ve bought. I received a fourth pair, in a surprise color, in December, so stay tuned for a photo set with those pants soon. I despair about when I won’t be able to buy this style pant, and I so wish they would do a better job of keeping a variety of colors available in all the big & tall sizes. I get them from DXL, but I believe they are carried at some other department store websites.
Shoes - these are my black Born loafers that I found in thrift. I have another pair if black leather loafers that look very similar, from Cole Haan, so I don’t know why I pick one over the other when I decided to wear loafers.
Jewelry - the copper tie bar, with a wood-like pattern on it, comes from thrift. It is made by Francisco Rebajes. The black triangle earrings I’ve had forever, and the moon and star earrings I haven’t had quite as long, but I don’t remember where they came from.
