I'm not sad about the summer ending, because this time, I know it won't be our last.

New Releases of May 2024!
I pre-ordered The Takedown because The Stand-In was great, hoping it’s as good as its predecessor!
4.5 Stars
This was such a good rom-com. There were a couple small problems, but none really notable enough to elaborate on. Joaquin and Felix had so much chemistry it was actually insane, they're such a cute couple. This was like if Hallmark made a movie for pride month except even better (if that makes sense). I also loved the thing with April, at first I was worried that it'd be a token aroace side character who's main goal is matchmaking, and while she IS a matchmaker, she's also treated as her own character and has an arc and everything. Carmen and Joaquin have such a real sibling relationship and really the support of his entire family was so nice to see. Also, the thing with his mom- this book was overall a very fun read, but when she'd make those comments, the tone would shift really drastically, and the contrast really pulled the reader into Joaquin's head. I really enjoyed reading this and will be checking out more books by this author.
