RETURN. mantra of lightness of being. I was young the first time i dissociated. visual proces sing: a broken elegy. the strings from my eyes snapped as twigs would when strained by the weight of their absent breath. I held mine still under my tongue, inhale-less into the present. split my psyche in half, learning to face my reflective portraiture. wallhung up intently by the palms of a praying goddess. earthskin tones of intersimulated spellwork simulacrum prickling my Ego. bending its tendons to toughen. for trauma wounds itself to stay alive. cuts in order to stay breathing. severs nervous system signals. prepares for impact. if i am then i am Nothing. I return to my neglected wounds with a broken smile. Nostalgia seeping through my pores as rivulets beckon me homeward. Remember the bloodclots left here by your fear. they miss you. dearly.
