Ateez Queer Shit/Appreciation pt.6 - Jongho’s Rainbow Posts
ateez queer shit/appreciation pt.5
This man used to have a habit of putting rainbows in his posts.
Not sure if they are still up on Twitter. I haven’t checked because I refuse to get an account on that god forsaken site.
(thank you @ateezdata)
I know for a fact that there are more that he has posted but I’m honestly too exhausted from scrolling for the past 2 hours lol.
Sometimes I wonder why he stopped; All I can hope was that he wasn’t socially, self, or company pressured to stop.
Queerteez/Queertiny Post List
July 20th will mark 1 year since Ateez saw this sign I brought to their concert.
Yunho - YUNHO’S REACTION STILL BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. He pointed at me, put his hand on his heart, and gave me an air hug.
Mingi - I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE TO THIS MAN, LOL. Yk that pose/face he does when he’s trying to read something? YeAh that’s what I got. He stood there for a hot minute trying to read it. He also pointed it out to Seonghwa!
later on in the show-
Wooyoung - THIS MAN- THIS MAN LOOKED RIGHT AT ME WITH THE BIGGEST SMILE AND JUST POINTED AT ME EXCITEDLY. I kinda froze but it did feel like that one spider-man meme ngl lol.
Ateez as an artist have been one of my biggest supports and have honestly saved my life (i credit The World: MOVEMENT with being the album of theirs that saved me, i’ll prob make a post about it later on). This concert filled me with such joy and completeness and I can not be more grateful to both ateez and atiny for making this an unforgettable experience. Being able to hear and see the songs that saved me in person is not something I could ever find the proper words to describe but I hope someday I do.
Thank you Ateez and Thank You Atiny for being on My Side.

“Oh your clothes don’t define you”
-celebrate
Society, fucking do better. People should be able to wear what they want and feel comfortable in without feeling like they need an excuse to wear it.
Clothing doesn’t and shouldn’t define your identity unless you specifically it helps you define your identity.
Seonghwa has already so brave sharing with us atiny the clothing he feels he can’t wear for whatever reason has been bothering him. I can only imagine that it must feel nerve wracking to be vulnerable in front of so many people in that way.
The way he expresses himself using fashion is a HUGE part of his identity but it doesn’t define who he is.
It takes a lot of strength to be able to express yourself day to day being a regular person. It must take A SHIT TON MORE strength to do so when you are a celebrity.
As only a fan, I can only wish seonghwa the strength he needs on his journey of self discovery, self love, and acceptance. I am so grateful that he is surrounded by his members who would do anything and everything to support him and lend him courage when he needs it.
(incoming rant)
As a transmasc individual who enjoys wearing traditionally feminine clothing, there was a period of my life where I tried my best to fit within societal gender confines due to my identity being called into question by strangers and those close to me. It took me awhile to come out of my shell and stand my ground. Today I’m able to express myself and my gender the way I feel comfortable but it’s not something everyone is able to do.
To this day I still hear shit like:
“why are you _______ if you’re transitioning to be a guy”
“you are to feminine to be trans”
“are you sure you aren’t non binary “
“well I don’t see you as a guy when I see you wearing _____”
“but you aren’t the same as other trans guys”
“but you aren’t the same as other (gender conforming cis) guys”
“no one is going to see you as a guy”
“but real men don’t ______”
and when I do wear traditionally masculine clothing it’s shit like
“but you are still wearing makeup”
“but I thought you liked wearing girls clothes”
“this makes you look more normal”
“you look more like a man in this”
“is this how you are going to dress from now on?”
“why do you keep switching it up?”
Celebrate’s “Oh your clothes don’t define you” lyric means so much to me because of this.
The way I express myself using clothing is a HUGE part of my identity, but it doesn’t define who I am.

This is a series in which I compile queer related ateez things as a form of appreciation for ateez always standing by the Queer community and providing a safe space for ALL atiny
Not sure if anyone else has caught onto this but I’ve noticed pride flag themed outfits FOR EVERY FEVER ALBUM, too consistent to be passed off as coincidence. (the rainbow makeup for fever pt.1 is talked about enough so I will be skipping over that entirely)
The first few parts won’t seem that obvious BUT OH MY GOD DOES FEVER PART TWO RAMP IT UP-
Starting with fever pt.1!
Yeosang
I interpreted his outfit as a take on the asexual pride flag! (I also must add that it also looks super cozyyyy)
Yunho
Even with the black pants, I saw the intersex flag in his outfit (you will see why once we get to fever pt.2)
Jongho
Istg the bisexual flag color scheme looks PERFECT on him-
San
Even through the use of smaller accessories I can easily see the rainbow pride flag.
Overall thoughts on Fever pt.1
This one’s outfits are a bit more toned down probably in part due to the rainbow makeup done.

Ateez Queer shit/appreciation pt.1 - Labrys Flag
queerteez/queertiny post list
This is a series in which I compile queer related ateez things as a form of appreciation for ateez always standing by the Queer community and providing a safe space for ALL atiny
Amidst the lore filled Don’t Stop music video and its spicy soundtrack, San presents with a lesbian top (i am so sorry i had to make a lesbian top joke-)
For those unfamiliar with this flag….
The Labrys itself is a icon of feminine strength and power and its use as a symbol traces back to the 70s. The black triangle is a reclaimed symbol originating from the badge used to classify prisoners in concentration camps (not just queer women). The violet coloring of the flag has to do with the queer associations and history behind the color (more info than I have knowledge on).
A Queer Reading of In Your Fantasy
This post is not in any way claiming to know ateez’s intentions when writing the song. This is just a personal interpretation of mine that I want to share <3

Yeah, I know what you’re into
Baby got a type
I know you’re 🏳️🌈.
Basically saying you don’t have to pretend while being flirty.
Trust your body
I’m nobody
I don’t kiss and tell
Trust your body’s reactions; it’s alright. You don’t need to commit to anything right now. I’m nobody.
“I don’t kiss and tell” REEKS OF don’t ask don’t tell
Release your inhibitions
There ain’t no point in fighting
Going back to the lyric of “Trust your body”,
You can’t change who you are so stop trying to fight it. Trust yourself.
Don’t need no good intentions
So why you tryna find it?
A double meaning of
You don’t need to make up an excuse like “i was experimenting”
and
You don’t need to make up an excuse to come home with me ;)
Read between the lines,
look here, Lucifer
“Read between the lines-” SAY IT WITH ME FOLKS-
👏🏼QUEER SUBTEXT👏🏼 (and hey we are singing about fucking lol)
But the full line, “Read between the lines, look here, Lucifer” tells of a bigger picture.
The association of Lucifer (although I can’t tell if San is calling himself of the listener Lucifer in this line) calls my attention. An angel cast out of heaven for being prideful and disobeying god. In addition there are many christians who associate being queer with disobeying god yada yada yada.
Devil in disguise,
We know how this works
This song has a lot of queer subtext; why do you think that is? You know why.
This also reminds me of the fact that many queer folk mask as the non queer folk due to social stigmas; making us ‘devils in disguise’ lol.
Heaven is in my stare,
Ain’t gonna take you there
You could just walk away right now but we both know that you won’t.
Heaven is in your stare,
Not gonna take you there
Same as above,
You could just walk away right now but we both know that you won’t.
Lucifer, hotter than hell
I feel so attracted so something deemed so ‘wrong’
Look at her, fallen angel
okay this is totally unrelated but something I find so interesting is that they refer to the fallen angel, Lucifer, as she/her. I just think it’s an interesting observation.
On the note of she/her not fitting a queer narrative, queerness transcends gender binaries and language. It always has and always will. In addition, this is listening to the song from a queer perspective. It is not an attempt at trying to say what the song is about. (although there is always the small small possibility that i’m right- but if you shoot 1000 arrows, at least one is bound to hit the target lol)
Then the outro is just a bunch of innuendos lol.
Why am I sharing this?
1. Ateez, whether intentional or not, continue to provide media which deeply resonates with queer fans. Personally, as a young queer person, Ateez have been an artist that have helped me navigate a society in which my very existence is still debated. I have had to navigate a world in which I, and others like me, have been and still are used as a scapegoat. We live in a world in which we are being controlled through lies, fear, and rules. Ateez music has helped me find strength in times in which I feel too weak to fight back.
2. A passion for art and exploring the countless interpretations that one piece can produce in its audience.
Thank you for sticking through this post!
