Zendaya sees double at Madame Tussauds San Francisco
Headline reads: “Kim Kardashian Reunites with Pardoned Inmate Alice Johnson”
Alice Johnson is newly released from prison. As a result Kardashian ‘must’ “show her the ropes” of technology-driven 2019 social media platforms, such as Snapchat. Here they play with different filters, while the audience is able to share the affective experience of Alice’s live and genuine reactions to the phenomenon that is the modern and ever-advancing “filter,” (an affordance designed specifically for selfies).
Resorting to scepticism about identity
‘The subject of identity, both personal and collective, is on the agenda in the West, as well as in post-Soviet Russia… The current intellectual climate encourages us to regard every expression of meaning and every assertion of identity as susceptible to reinterpretation’ (Laura Engelstein and Stephanie Sandler, Self and Story in Russian History, p. 4). http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract;jsessionid=981D26EF03ABB97C52C94B55CBE71F50.journals?fromPage=online&aid=151731
