Questioning osdd system..
We aren't sure if it is osdd we are dealing with or if it's 'mere' dpdr, but in any case, we are in a lot of denial and panic because of this. We may have just been exposed to a lot of new info too fast which causes us to suppress any ideas of having any fragments or parts. While we do feel extremely confined and kinda restricted by the idea of being a singlet, it feels a lot more 'ordinary' in that we feel more 'whole' ? This is not what we actually believe it's merely what we have internalised, especially with having possible fragments, as they are called.. wondering if we could have some tips or positivity to fight some of this doubt which is causing us a lot of stress
I think it’s good to remember a few things here. First, fragments can be just as “whole” as other members of a system. Whether they start out that way or not.
Second, having fragments isn’t necessarily a bad thing, nor does is have to mean you’re less “whole” than you’d otherwise be. Imagine a machine that’s made up of a million different parts and sections. It may look overly complicated, but all that matters is if it can do the job. For many systems, being able to assign different tasks to different members helps so that no one member is too over worked.
Thirdly, being a singlet may be seem as the norm, but systems/plurals are way more common than we often think. So, you’re not alone and not any less “normal” than any singlet.
I hope this helps!
