((Ok so I was thinking about Ghost!Doc earlier and had some thoughts...

once he realizes that he can consciously do so, he almost never stops floating, and frequently hangs around in positions other than “upright”. people will ask him to stop, but he won’t for longer than like 5 minutes

he can’t really interact with people or objects physically and he’s constantly forgetting this. it does not drive him any less nuts each time. it is no less weird for people he keeps accidentally phasing through

that said he’s fairly happy with the development of just skipping the whole “doors” thing entirely, once he’s slightly more used to it

then why stop at doors? just frickin take the shortest linear route to wherever you’re going with no warning whatsoever

wants to build something possess-able so he can interact with stuff properly, needs to be able to interact w stuff properly to make it. endless cycle of frustration

ends up just kinda chilling out in books and clocks/watches like a nerd

possibly any local dogs for short periods of time after making sure it wouldn’t freak them out or hurt them in any way))

ohhhh…. Gotcha. I am… Currently not entirely sure tbh. Old flames of Doc’s is kinda one of those weird schrodinger’s headcanons, yknow? Realistically he might’ve had them he’s been alive for like 70 years but at the same time he could be one of those sorts of people who wouldn’t seek out a romantic partner so much as get hit sideways by one. Edna was the driving force in his first relationship, and the whole “at first sight” business led to his current. Unless he’s really head-over heels, the other person’s gonna be initiating it, at which point he will almost 98% probably go along with it because he’ll be too “?!?!?!?!?!?!?SURE OKAY??” to answer much otherwise.

But anyway... Got off track there I guess... If he did teach there, and there were a manipulative miss Jill Wooster there at the same time, I could see that being pretty much how that all went down, and that he’d never speak of it again afterwards.

Other than that I-... I’m really not sure my thoughts on that for the moment. I’m sure though if I think of anything else or the headcanon starts to warm up to me, I’ll ramble much more about it...))

((Y’know, thinking about it logistically, wearing more than one watch as a time traveler is actually a good idea. Like... Alright, yeah, the man’s got a slight clock obsession, but at the same time the readout on the DeLorean only displays the current time, the time you left from, and the next time you plan to go. It says nothing of how long you’ve been whenever you are currently.

Wearing one watch tuned into the local time, and a second one that was in sync with whatever era you call home when you left (which should be able to keep track of days as well as hours), would be useful for both current era timekeeping, and making sure you didn’t lose too much time when you got back.))

((Do u think Doc ever put his ability to make pretty good detailed miniature models of things to uses other than science? Like, just, fun, non-invention stuff, as a mental break that's still an activity. 

Most of it's stuff of his own interests. There's 100% a lil Nautilus hanging out on a shelf someplace. Several of his more novelty clocks could've been a restoration project rescued from a garage sale. The occasional building/landmark. A train or two definitely, probably some cars... Others are for other people. He’s probably made Marty quite a few scale Star Wars ships. Also SO much stuff for his own kids... And then god help him when Clara asks what stuff looks like in the future bc you KNOW just description is hardly enough for either of them))
