She ought have warned her young brother-by-law to watch his steps as he made his way through her father's workshop, but she had been too nervous to even think of that. The youngest son of her father-by-law was not someone she had often spent time with, and she had hoped this time with him would help her to build bridges with him that did not yet exist. They were family, after all. Him catching his leg on a discarded sheet of iron was not the best way for it to start. She quickly pressed a bandage to the tiny wounds that dotted up his shin and gave him another apologetic look. "It won't hurt for too long, don't worry."
