If Ben “Kylo Ren” Solo lived he could have actually finished what Vader started by atoning his sins against the galaxy by being the Jediest Jedi ever
If Rey lived too, it would have shown that a Skywalker and a Palpatine could work together to bring peace and prosperity to the galaxy and rebuild the Jedi Order in a better way, paralleling a Skywalker and a Palpatine working together to subjugate the galaxy and bring about the rise of the Sith and the Empire
Or if Rey DOES end up dying, Ben Solo is now alone in the galaxy with all the people whom he loved or loved him gone, mostly by his hands and actions, so he is left to atone
