For Shatt week Day 3!
The glow-in-the-dark stars shone above the two, their dim light faded from age yet still shining through the darkness. The two laid on the floor in sleeping bags, one awake and staring above while the other’s state was unknown. “Pssst, Shiro. You awake?” Matt whispered. There was a small shuffle from where Shiro was, presuming his quiet way of telling Matt he was awake. There was a stifled yawn, yup, Shiro was definitely awake now. “What is it this time, Matt?” Matt smiled at the ceiling, still staring at the constellations that the stars formed. It was so quiet that they could hear each other breathing. “Do you wanna play twenty-one questions?” Matt asked. Shiro furrowed his brows. “That’ll take awhile, Matt. It’s almost three a.m. Do you really want to play?” he asked Matt. Matt nodded. Shiro sighed, covering up a yawn.“What if we do like one question then? Would that be okay?” Shiro prompted. Matt nodded where he was. “Okay, you go first.” “Why are you awake?” Shiro asked instantly with a deadpan voice. Matt scoffed. “Because I’m an adult and I can make life choices,” he said proudly. Shiro groaned but afterwards laughed quietly. Matt stayed silent. “Are you going to ask a question?” Shiro asked him after what felt like minutes past. “I just wanted to know…” Matt trailed, taking a small peak at where Shiro laid to see if he was still paying attention. He was. “What would you do if someone you were close to said they liked you?” Shiro raised a brow. “What?” Shiro asked, stifling another yawn. Matt chuckled quietly to himself, instantly regretting asking. “What would you do if someone you were close to said they liked you? As in romantically?” Matt added with a small tone of fear in his voice. Shiro was quiet, trying to think of an answer. He hummed. “Well, I guess it would matter on who said it? Why?…” Shiro asked Matt, a tone of suspicion seeping into his voice. “Hmm…” Matt said before going quiet. He was in deep thought, weighing out the odds. Shiro sighed and rustled in his sleeping bag once again, pulling the fabric over his head. “Try to get some sleep okay? Goodnight.” Matt instantly heard quiet snores seconds afterwards. A few minutes had passed and Matt figured Shiro was in deep sleep already. “I love you, Shiro,” he said quietly to no one. Matt moved around in his sleeping bag trying to get warm then tried his best to fall asleep. Shiro sighed to himself, shaking his head as much as he could in his position. “I love you too, Matt.” He made a quiet promise to himself to tell Matt later in the morning.
